I'm Concerned For One Of Honkai: Star Rail 3.0's Leaked Rerun Banners
The leaked rerun banners for Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 are making me somewhat concerned, especially because of the dissonance of treatment between some characters and others. The turn-based RPG by HoYoverse is set to enter its third year of content with Version 3.0 in mid-January 2025 if there are no delays with the regular six-week schedule for each patch. The next update will take players to Amphoreus, a mysterious new destination. There, players should meet the roster of new Amphoreus characters in Honkai: Star Rail and get involved in the local story arc taking place in The Eternal Land.
A lot of the patch’s focus will be on the new content, from campaign missions to new playable characters; in fact, there are three new confirmed characters for Version 3.0. One of them is the Remembrance Trailblazer, who will be made available for all players who progress through the campaign, while the other two are premium units: The Herta and Aglaea. Although a lot of the attention should be directed toward the new characters and the introduction of Remembrance as a playable Path, there will also be rerun banners in Honkai: Star Rail 3.0, which have yet to be confirmed.
All Rerun Banners For Honkai: Star Rail 3.0 Have Allegedly Leaked
Close
The alleged rerun characters for Version 3.0 have leaked ahead of the official livestream in early January. According to information provided by the leaker known as Seele Leaks, Phase 1 rerun banners will feature Jade, Feixiao, and Lingsha, while Phase 2 rerun banners will be composed of Robin, Boothill, and Silver Wolf. The leak was shared in a post tagged as “Reliable” on Reddit. If this is true, players will have access to six different rerun characters within a single patch, which is completely unprecedented in Honkai: Star Rail’s history so far.

For reference, the game has already featured a triple rerun banner in the past. In Version 2.5, HoYoverse created a triple warp event featuring Kafka, Black Swan, and Robin as the rerun characters. In it, players could choose the premium 5-star character they desired and pull toward obtaining them. Of course, players were still subject to the possibility of losing the 50/50 like any other character banner, but they essentially had three different rerun characters to choose from in a single banner phase. Now, it seems this structure will be repeated across both of Honkai: Star Rail 3.0’s banner phases.
Robin May Rerun In Honkai: Star Rail For The Second Time
The Harmony Character Was Released Less Than A Year Ago

The leaked Phase 1 banners for Version 3.0 are extremely positive news, as all three listed characters will be rerunning for the first time since their respective releases. This is the first opportunity that players have of obtaining them if they missed the chance during their initial runs. The issue comes with the leaked Phase 2 rerun banners – specifically, with the Robin rerun. Considering how strong and popular of a support character she is, it makes sense for HoYoverse to rerun Robin in Honkai: Star Rail a second time, but her rerun is happening too quickly after her first.

Robin was released in Version 2.2, which occurred in May 2024 and reran in Version 2.5, which happened in September. Considering the sheer amount of premium 5-star units in the turn-based RPG, Robin took precedence over several characters that were overdue a rerun, but it still made sense given how crucial she is for follow-up team comps – a team structure that was and still is leading a lot of the meta in combat. This gave players who missed her the first time a chance to obtain her for team comps led by Feixiao in Honkai: Star Rail, for example.
Follow-up attack team comps gained a major buff around Version 2.5 with the release of Feixiao, Moze, and Lingsha, all of which operate around this mechanic. Before that, the game received March 7th (Hunt) and Yunli, who also have follow-up attack mechanics.
If the leak about the Version 3.0 banners is true, then Robin will rerun once again, shortly after her rerun in Version 2.5. It’s worth remembering that this year of content ends with Version 2.7, meaning that Robin would rerun, once again, only three patches after her last appearance in the gacha banner system. The issue is not with Robin as a character as she is one of the most valuable Harmony characters in the game, but with how much attention she is given to the detriment of other Honkai: Star Rail characters that have long been awaiting a rerun.
Robin’s Banners Conflict With Other Long-Awaited Reruns In Honkai: Star Rail
Dr. Ratio Has Never Been In A Rerun Banner
There are several older characters that have been long awaiting their turn to rerun in banners. Granted, they may not be as strong or popular as Robin, but they do deserve some time in the spotlight. The most exacerbated case is Dr. Ratio. The 5-star Imaginary character on the Path of the Hunt debuted in Version 1.6 banners and was given for free to all players between Versions 1.6 and 2.1. However, he has never appeared again in banners. This is a problem considering that newer players are essentially locked out of Dr. Ratio in Honkai: Star Rail.

Even though Dr. Ratio’s case is the most absurd, there are other characters who also need reruns. Yunli and Jiaoqiu, both of which debuted in Version 2.4, are also in need of appearances in rerun banners. Despite not being as crucial for the meta, both characters are strong and should not be overlooked – players should at least have the option of pulling for them. Another grand example of a character that should have a somewhat similar treatment to Robin is Ruan Mei in Honkai: Star Rail.
The 5-star Ice Harmony character is one of the most vital parts of Break DMG team comps and with Firefly’s rerun and Fugue’s release in Version 2.7, both of which are centered around Break Effect, a Ruan Mei rerun in Version 3.0 would be an incredibly useful decision from HoYoverse. With it, players could compose one of the best team comps in the game at the moment.
While the presence of Robin in banners is not a bad one considering the value she has for players who are lucky enough to obtain her, Robin’s continuous reruns with short gaps between each appearance and the long absences of other 5-star characters is what has me concerned about the future. This is especially true as the roster continues to expand. Robin’s treatment makes it explicit that some characters are not a priority for HoYoverse, so we are left wondering if we should pull for certain characters before they disappear for months, if not years, from Honkai: Star Rail’s banners.
