The anticipated Transformers One will bring the return of familiar characters from the Transformers franchise. Following the success and large fan base of the live-action Transformers films, Transformers One is taking on a different appearance and will be an animated film. The film is a prequel that explores the origins of Optimus Prime and Megatron's relationship. Joining these two are other popular characters seen within the franchise, in addition to two Autobots largely absent from the live-action films.
The ensemble voice cast of Transformers One was announced in 2023 and features many notable actors, including Scarlett Johansson, Laurence Fishburne, and Chris Hemsworth, taking over as Optimus Prime following Peter Cullen. Though Transformers One is an addition to the Transformers film series, its source material closely follows early adaptations of the characters, as portrayed in The Transformers animated television and comic series. This sets Transformers One further apart from the live-action films and brings about opportunities to introduce audiences to Autobots and Decepticons unseen in other film adaptations.

10 Orion Pax/Optimus Prime
Voiced by Chris Hemsworth
Close
Following in the path of Peter Cullen, who voiced the character throughout the entire Transformers film franchise, Chris Hemsworth will be voicing the main protagonist, Optimus Prime, in Transformers One. Optimus Prime, originally known as Orion Pax, is the leader of the Autobots. Alongside his admired leadership qualities, Optimus Prime is known for his skilled force used against his Decepticon enemies.
Before becoming the powerful leader he's known as in the Transformers franchise, Optimus Prime was created and mentored by Alpha Trion.
This combination of abilities makes Optimus Prime out to be a highly powerful Cybertronian whose early days will be detailed in Transformers One. Before becoming the powerful leader he's known as in the Transformers franchise, Optimus Prime was created and mentored by Alpha Trion. Considering both characters are present in Transformers One, it's unclear yet how much the film will focus on his time as Orion.

Megatron, also known as D-16, is a widely recognized villain within the franchise and will act as an important character in Transformers One. Megatron is the leader of the Decepticons and he often clashes with Optimus Prime. Megatron's skills are comparable to those of Optimus Prime, making for entertaining battles between the two seen in previous adaptations of the characters. Megatron's origin, which will be explored in Transformers One, is likely to showcase a different side to the famed antagonist, following his friendship with Optimus Prime.
8 Bumblebee
Voiced by Keegan-Michael Key
Close
Bumblebee, a beloved member of the Autobots, will appear in Transformers One. He is characterized by his connection to humans and the effort he makes to prove his worth to stronger Autobots, particularly Optimus Prime. Though Bumblebee is smaller, his size allows him to be quick and efficient in combat. Another notable characteristic of Bumblebee's is his inability to speak like the other Autobots. Details of Bumblebee's full role in Transformers One have yet to be revealed, but it'll be interesting to see whether the film explores his conflict with Megatron, often credited as being the reason his voice was damaged.

7 Elita-One
Voiced by Scarlett Johansson
Close
Elita-One, formerly known as Ariel, plays a significant part alongside Optimus Prime in Transformers One. Ariel dated Orion Pax, but the two were severely damaged following an attack by Megatron. They would eventually be rebuilt by Alpha Trion and given their new names, Elita-One and Optimus Prime. Elita-One is a powerful Autobot with the ability to stop time around her, though she only uses this when it's necessary. Transformers One will likely show Optimus Prime and Elita-One fighting alongside one another in the war on Cybertron, before the former leaves for the battle on Earth.
6 Alpha Trion
Voiced by Laurence Fishburne
Close
Similar to Elita-One, Alpha Trion hasn't been shown in the live-action Transformers films and will make his film debut in Transformers One. Alpha Trion is one of the oldest Autobots with an immense amount of knowledge, which he uses to workshop their defense against the Decepticons. Alpha Trion also acts as the mentor to younger Autobots, such as Elita-One and Optimus Prime. Alpha Trion created both Autobots but worked to shape the latter into a leadership role for the Autobots following Sentinel Prime's death.
5 Sentinel Prime
Voiced by Jon Hamm
In previous television and comic adaptations of the Transformers story, Sentinel Prime is described as the former leader of the Autobots before Optimus Prime. Transformers One will likely follow this storyline, chronicling Sentinel Prime's leadership before his death. As a skilled fighter, Sentinel Prime is equipped with powerful weapons that result in a prideful fighter. This characteristic leads to a negative side of Sentinel Prime that is seen throughout other adaptations of the character, such as in Transformers: Dark of the Moon. However, it is not currently known how far Transformers One will get into Sentinel Prime's journey.
4 Starscream
The Major Decepticon Is Featured
Close
The Decepticons' typical second-in-command, Starscream, is also appearing in Transformers One. He can transform into a jet and traditionally answers to Megatron. Considering Megatron is not yet a villain in Transformers One's story, Starscream could occupy an even larger role with the Decepticons, as evidenced by his place on a throne. The villain is often driven by his desire to overthrow Megatron and lead the Decepticons, but that might already be his position in Transformers One. No voice actor is confirmed, but Starscream appeared in the original Transformers live-action trilogy.
3 Shockwave
A Familiar Decepticon Returns
Close
Shockwave is another Decepticon confirmed for Transformers One. Although no voice actor is known for the villain, the classic G1 design for Shockwave can be seen in the Transformers One trailer standing next to Starscream. Considering Shockwave's usual standing among the Decepticons as one of their smartest members, he could have a prominent role to play with the villain faction. He's known for his cold, emotionless persona and logical thinking. Audiences previously saw Shockwave in Transformers: Dark of the Moon and a cameo in Bumblebee.
2 Soundwave
A Loyal Decepticon Returns
Close
Soundwave returns to screens with Transformers One. The trusted member of the Decepticon ranks is potentially Starscream's right-hand officer during the film. Soundwave was last seen in Transformers: Dark of the Moon outside of a cameo in Bumblebee. The driven and incredibly loyal Decepticon is now set to be present in Transformers One. How big of a role he will have is unclear, as no voice actor is confirmed.
1 Airachnid
A Film Debut For The Decepticon
Transformers One's confirmed Decepticons also include the feature-film debut for Airachnid. The spider-like Decepticon is briefly seen in the Transformers One trailer leaping through the sky after an explosion. Although Airachnid is technically a Decepticon and will work for them under the right circumstances, she is better known for doing what is best for her and aligning herself with whoever can help her become more powerful.
