The Masked Singer Panelists Should Have Saved Lizard From Elimination, According To Fans
Summary Fans are upset that The Masked Singer panelists didn't save Lizard/Sisqó.
Despite the outcry, it's unlikely Lizard would have won even with the save, due to a lack of support.
The Ding Dong Keep It On Bell has been used four times in the past to save contestants, with mixed results.
After Lizard was unmasked as Sisqó during The Masked Singer season 11, the celebrity panelists are coming under fire for not saving the singer before his elimination. Lizard made his Masked Singer season 11 debut on Billy Joel Night by performing "Uptown Girl." He went head-to-head against Spaghetti & Meatballs in the Smackdown and survived. On TV Theme Night, Lizard covered the Scooby Doo theme song. It wasn't enough to save him, and he returned to the Smackdown but survived against Sir Lion. Shower Anthem Night was the end of the line for Lizard, and he was eliminated.
"I'm mad y'all didn't save Sisqo."
Following Sisqó's exit, fans took to the comments section of a Masked Singer Instagram post that revealed his identity to express their displeasure that the panelists didn't use the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell to save the singer.
Mzblutrini exclaimed, "I'm mad y'all didn't save Sisqo." Amberjames71021 said that Sisqó "should have won" the Group C Finals. "Come on," they added. Lavitabella0510 is "so sad" that the panelists didn't use their save.

The Odds Were Not In Lizard's Favor

Singindiva4eva went as far as to say that Sisqó was "robbed!!!!! Smh." Neelyjmw88 didn't understand why Lizard kept landing in the Smackdown every week. During the Battle Royale, the Masked Singer panelists ended up using the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell for Poodle Moth. However, Sully_sportles didn't get why the save was even used in this round when they claimed Group B has some of the "best singers this season." Gina_m424 complained that the bell is the "worst...addition" to The Masked Singer.

There were quite a few social media users in the Instagram post's comments section criticizing the Masked Singer season 11 panelists for not saving Lizard. However, even if the Ding Dong Keep It On Bell had been used on him, it seems very unlikely that he would have won The Masked Singer season 11. After all, he ended up in the Smackdown the first two times he performed and then received the fewest number of votes in the Group C Finals. Clearly, the support just wasn't there for him in this competition, regardless of whether it was warranted or not.

The Ding Dong Keep It On Bell has been used four times in the past. During The Masked Singer season 9, Medusa, Gargoyle and Mantis were saved by the panelists. In The Masked Singer season 10, Gazelle was saved. Gargoyle and Mantis did not make it to the finale in their season. Gazelle did make it to the finale when she competed but was unmasked in third place. However, after Medusa was saved, she went on to win the whole competition, so there is a precedent for a saved contestant winning. Unfortunately, the odds aren't stacked in their favor.
The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on FOX.
