Jerry Seinfeld's upcoming movie, Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, is packed with food mascot Easter eggs. The movie is loosely inspired by the true events of the competition between Kellogg's and Post to develop a breakfast pastry in the 1960s. Although the film focuses on a fictionalized version of the Pop-Tart origin story, the star-studded cast of Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story includes several famous breakfast and food mascots and will no doubt explore their role in creating many of the iconic products we still know and love today.
The latest trailer unveiled the first look at some of these characters, as well as the exciting cast members bringing them to life. The film clearly wants some of its characters to remain a mystery - several of the big-name actors on IMDb don't even have their characters listed yet - but the glimpses shown in the trailer promise a hilarious reimagining of some of the most beloved food mascots in America, from Hugh Grant's Unfrosted take on Tony the Tiger to the Quaker Oats man. Here are all the mascots that are set to make an appearance so far.

Tony the Tiger
Played by Hugh Grant
Close
Hugh Grant recently played an Oompa-Loompa in Wonka, and is now appearing as another iconic orange character. In Unfrosted, he's taking on the role of Kellogg's Frosted Flakes mascot Tony the Tiger. The trailer positions Grant as an antagonist to the Pop-Tart team, which would make sense considering how Kellogg and Post are rival companies in the film. Although he originally gained fame for his romantic, charming roles in films like Sense and Sensibility and Notting Hill, Grant has enjoyed heel-turn performances lately, playing campy villains in hits like Paddington 2, Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre, and Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves. Turning Tony the Tiger into a scheming nemesis of the Pop-Tart brand would be in line with his recent filmography.

Chef Boyardee
Played by Bobby Moynihan
Chef Boyardee is the mascot behind the popular brand of canned spaghetti. Although he's given a major shout-out in the trailer for Unfrosted, Chef Boyardee products aren't made by Post or Kellogg, suggesting that the movie might venture beyond the world of breakfast food and explore various food brand mascots. As a Saturday Night Live alumni, Moynihan is a great choice to bring this character to life and play into his more comedic aspects.
Interestingly, Chef Boyardee also has a connection to Seinfeld. It was one of the only companies to request that the show not mention them by name, forcing the writers to replace the name brand Beefaroni with the made-up "Beef-a-reeno" in the 1996 episode "The Rye." Chef Boyardee's comedic inclusion in the movie might be Jerry Seinfeld's way of finally settling a long-standing grudge.
Snap, Crackle, and Pop
Played by Kyle Mooney, Mikey Day, and Drew Tarver
Snap, Crackle, and Pop, Kellogg's Rice Krispies mascots, bring more SNL actors to Unfrosted: Mikey Day and Kyle Mooney play Crackle and Snap, two-thirds of the famous trio. Mikey Day is still part of Saturday Night Live's main cast, while Kyle Mooney departed SNL in 2022 to focus on personal projects, such as the upcoming film Y2K. They're also joined by Drew Tarver, star of Max's The Other Two. The Other Two was unceremoniously canceled amid behind-the-scenes controversy in 2023, so it's exciting to see Tarver again getting to show off his comedic chops. It's unclear what the trio's roles in the film will be, but the fact that they're Kellogg's mascots implies they'll be working against the lead characters at Post.
Quaker Oats Man
Played by Andy Daly
Andy Daly appears in Unfrosted's trailer as the Quaker Oats man. Daly is a versatile actor, appearing in everything from animated comedies like Bob's Burgers and Harley Quinn to recent dramas such as Lessons in Chemistry, so he clearly has the range to take various approaches to this role. Although the Quaker Oats mascot doesn't officially have a name, he's introduced in the trailer as Isaiah Lamb from Quaker.
From the start, he seems to have an instantly antagonistic relationship with Jerry Seinfeld's character. It will be interesting to see how that rivalry is reflected on screen, and whether it clashes with the Quaker Oats man's supposed Quaker pacifist values. Although the makers of Quaker Oats weren't Quakers themselves, they modeled the brand's values on Quaker ideals about honesty and integrity. Incorporating those values could add an interesting twist to the character, or make it extra funny if the man in the suit didn't embody them at all.
Toucan Sam
Played by Cedric Yarbrough
Although he doesn't appear in the trailer, the IMDb cast list shows that Cedric Yarbrough is playing Toucan Sam, the Kellogg's Fruit Loops mascot. Yarbrough is best known for his long-running role as Deputy Jones on Reno 911. He also recently appeared in the AMC series Lucky Hank, where he got to take on a slightly more dramatic role. Considering that he's another Kellogg's mascot, it can be assumed that Toucan Sam will also be conspiring against the Pop-Tarts team along with his Kellogg's colleagues. It's still unclear if he'll don a mascot costume or if he'll appear as a literal toucan, but if anyone has the comedic skills to pull that transformation off, it would be Yarbrough.
Little Debbie
Played by Winter Bassett
Winter Bassett is an up-and-coming actress who is also listed on Unfrosted's IMDb cast list as playing Little Debbie, the iconic snack cake mascot. She's best known for her Euphoria role of Stacey, one of the girls who auditioned for Lexi's play. Her role in Unfrosted will presumably be very different. Since Little Debbie snacks are manufactured by McKee, not Kellogg's or Post, it's undetermined if Little Debbie will be a friend or a foe to the team developing Pop-Tarts. She may try to stop Pop Tarts from taking her spot as the most popular prepackaged pastry on the market, but she could also lend the Post team some much-needed advice about how to build their brand.

General Mills
Played by Michael Joseph Pierce
IMDb lists Michael Joseph Pierce as General Mills, presumably an anthropomorphized take on the food manufacturer. General Mills was not named after a general, but a conglomerated series of wheat mills across America. The company quickly rose to prominence as a leading manufacturer of breakfast foods, and is known for its popular cereals like Lucky Charms and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, as well as baked goods from lines like Pillsbury and Betty Crocker. General Mills is a giant in the food industry, and will most likely present itself as an obstacle for the team at Post. Pierce is known for playing intimidating characters such as detectives and other authority figures, so it's a safe bet that his interpretation of General Mills will be a formidable opponent to the developers behind Pop-Tarts.

Big Yella
Played by Jeff Lewis
Jeff Lewis is set to play Big Yella, the cowboy mascot for Kellogg's Corn Pops. Lewis is a seasoned comedy actor who first rose to prominence in the cult classic web series The Guild. More recently, he's appeared on the sitcom Kenan alongside Kenan Thompson, which again strengthens Unfrosted's connections to SNL. Corn Pops has had several mascots , including actor Guy Madison and Saturday morning cartoon character Woody Woodpecker. Big Yella wasn't introduced as the cereal's mascot until the late 1970s, which implies that the film will either stretch past the 1960s or take some liberties with its timeline. Either way, it's exciting to see a more obscure mascot be included alongside more iconic ones as a fun nod to a footnote in the history of cereal marketing.
Keebler Elf
Close
The iconic mascot of the Keebler company, the Keebler Elf, also appears in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story. The character appears at the meeting of the heads of the various breakfast companies, with him providing Keebler cookies to the group. Although the cameo is small, it is a fun Easter egg that is representative of the world of food mascots outside of the breakfast area.
Cornelius Rooster
Cornelius Rooster is the mascot of Kellogg's corn flakes, with the green bird appearing on the front of the box. A costumed version of the character appears in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, with him performing a cereal-themed ceremony at a funeral. The character stays in costume throughout the film, meaning that the actor is unknown, although it is a fun shout-out to a lesser-seen cereal mascot.
Triple Snack Giraffe
The Triple Snack Giraffe also appears in Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, with it appearing alongside Cornelius Rooster in the funeral scene. The blue giraffe is the mascot of Kellogg's Triple Snack cereal, also appearing on the box. Much like Cornelius Rooster, the Triple Snack Giraffe stays in costume throughout the film, meaning that the actor here is unknown as well.
Doublemint Twins
Played by Nicole Peters and Lauren Peters
Another non-breakfast-related mascot set to appear in Unfrosted are the Doublemint Twins, the spokespeople for Wrigley's Doublemint chewing gum. Since the 1930s, the company has emphasized their "double strength" flavor by advertising the gum with sets of twins. Many of the Doublemint Twins actors have gone on to achieve greater fame, including Cynthia and Brittany Daniel, who later starred in the Sweet Valley High TV series, and Tia and Tamara Mowry, the stars of Sister, Sister.
In Unfrosted, the Doublemint Twins will be portrayed by Nicole and Lauren Peters. It's yet to be revealed if they'll be portraying a real set of Doublemint spokestwins or if their characters will be fully original. Prior to Unfrosted: The Pop-Tart Story, the Peters sisters previously appeared in the film A Simple Favor as Young Hope and Young Faith.
