While Aerith's home in Final Fantasy VII Remake may feel like a home away from home for many fans, one talented player was able to recreate it with an impressive amount of detail in an entirely different game. Through Cloud Strife's adventure through Midgar and beyond, the home of his companion and potential love interest is positioned as a safe haven amongst the imposing steel and metal of the surrounding city. The dark tones of Shinra are replaced by the greenery of a flourishing garden, a garden that was faithfully captured by The Sims 4's house builder system.

Aerith's Home Is Iconic In Final Fantasy 7

It's no wonder Ok_Foundation950 opted to build Aerith's home in The Sims 4 given how iconic it's become amongst the community. While it may only briefly appear in the original Final Fantasy 7, its role is expanded upon further in Remake even though the story beats are very similar. Cloud is first introduced to the location when he escorts Aerith through Midgar's slums, eventually meeting Elmyra, her mother, who asks him to leave her daughter alone. Barret's daughter Marlene also takes refuge there when Shinra detonates one of the city's structural plates, destroying a large section of the surrounding town.

While it plays a key role in FF7 Remake, Aerith's home doesn't appear in FF7 Rebirth since the sequel largely takes place outside of Midgar.

As for The Sims 4, Maxis' ever-popular life-sim boasts some of the most intricate customization tools ever utilized for a mainstream video game. One of the core pillars of the experience is building and decorating structures and players have a vast amount of tools at their disposal to create whatever vision they wish to express. The level of detail on offer is genuinely impressive and only becomes more granular the more content is steadily added with the controversial Stuff and Game Packs.

While the original game may have launched back in 1997, Cloud's story still maintains a presence in the hearts of fans thanks to Square Enix's excellent Final Fantasy 7 Remake, which was released in 2020. The first part of a new trilogy that modernizes the mechanics and weaves a more cinematic narrative ushered in a new generation of fans while also appealing to those who adored the PlayStation One classic. The latest game in the Remake Trilogy is Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was released in early 2024 but the next installment doesn't yet have a release date.
