Ugly Sweater’s Premiere Night Performance & Clues

During The Masked Singer season 11 premiere night, Ugly Sweater sang "The Best" by Tina Turner. He began his clue package by saying, "When I hit the scene as a young, handsome ugly sweater, I was the epitome of style, on top of the world. But I lost focus, and my whole world unraveled." When Ugly Sweater said this, a train sped by him.

As rain began to pour down, a black and white rabbit in a top hat was shown. Ugly Sweater continued, "I went from living in penthouses to sleeping on park benches. My life was hanging on by a thread, and, when I hit rock bottom, I realized I had to change. And I started fighting to reclaim my voice." As he slept outside in the rain, Ugly Sweater used a newspaper with the headline, "Ugly Sweater Is Unraveling!," as a blanket.

Next, an alarm clock rang. When Ugly Sweater shut off the alarm, the rain stopped, and it was sunny again. He went on to say, "Now, I'm back on top, better than before." A blue record was then shown, which Robin said might refer to "Blue Note Records." Ugly Sweater continued, "So I'm gonna win that trophy for all the people who helped me get back on my feet to live a life that's simply the best."

After Ugly Sweater's performance, another clue about his identity was revealed: an orange ugly sweater with four eyes sewn on it, with the word "FEATURING" in green. Ugly Sweater explained, "Ugly Sweater's always in style. Must be why the biggest stars want to work with me."

Ugly Sweater's Transformers Night Performance & Clues

During The Masked Singer season 11 Transformers Night, Ugly Sweater sang "Brick House" by the Commodores. Ugly Sweater's clue package began with a recap of his premiere night performance. He gushed, "Y'all made me feel all warm and fuzzy last time." The scene then changed to a clothing store, where Ugly Sweater was browsing through the racks. He said, "There's one person in my life who helped me tap into my inner Optimus Prime: my wife." A poster with a female Ugly Sweater that said, "Crochet Couture Sale!" was then shown.

Ugly Sweater continued, "When I met my soul mate, we couldn't be more opposite. My life was unraveling, and hers was all buttoned up." A toy plane was then shown on top of a pile of clothes. Ugly Sweater then said, "I was consignment; she was couture. I was on top of the charts, and she ... didn't know who I was." A stop sign then appeared in the female Ugly Sweater's hand on the poster. Then she winked.

Ugly Sweater went on to say, "Sometimes unlikely pairings just work together like plaids and stripes." He then pulled a plaid shirt off of a rack with a tag that said, "$0," with a tire with a flame as the zero. Ugly Sweater concluded with, "She built me up, one brick at a time. And now, I'm gonna get down with a fun song, just for my sweater half."

After Ugly Sweater's performance, another clue was revealed about his identity. He sat down on a stool while the panelists spoke about him. Transformers' Bumblebee shared the clue, which was, "Ugly Sweater spends his time wisely: so much so that he earned himself a lifetime achievement award."

Ugly Sweater's Queen Night Performances & Clues

The Masked Singer season 11 Queen Night, which was the Group A finals, began with Ugly Sweater, Goldfish, and Starfish singing an epic version of "We Are the Champions" together. For his Queen Night performance, Ugly Sweater sang an inspiring version of "I Want to Break Free." Ugly Sweater's clue package began with a recap of his Transformers Night performance. He said, "I love being this colorful sweater, and I'll be yarned, I made it to the Group A finals. I can't wait to honor Queen with a song about freedom, baby!"

The scene then changed back to the clothing store from Ugly Sweater's Transformers Night clue package. When Ugly Sweater was asked if he related to Queen being timeless, he said, "They say what's old is new again. And I should know. I've been upcycled and recycled, more times than I can count." Ugly Sweater picked up a pink inner tube shaped like a fish's tail, and then tossed it aside. He added, "Inspired everyone from Snoop Dogg to Nirvana. Talk about a fashion statement." He then held up a red sweater with a folded hands emoji on it.

Ugly Sweater continued, "I even worked with the legendary Tupac, and I keep that tidbit in my pocket." He then held up a bar of gold that said, "24K," on it. He went on to say, "Yep, you can say I've influenced a soaring circle of stars, all by doing my own thing. As a sweater who was once tossed aside, getting to the quarterfinals would show you can always break free from anything." Ugly Sweater then held up a framed picture of a crying emoji. He concluded by saying, "Whether it's your past, your dirty laundry, or your skinny jeans. Just roll up your sleeves and do what you love like it's going out of style."

After Ugly Sweater's performance, another clue about his identity was revealed, which was the Masked Singer panelist to whom he was connected. To the tune of Queen's "Bicycle Race," two Men in Black rode bikes that had Nick's name on them. Ugly Sweater explained, "Alright, Nick, listen. I never forget giving you dating advice. And, honestly, you didn't forget either." Ugly Sweater then laughed hysterically. After every contestant performed, Ugly Sweater received the lowest number of votes, and so he was unmasked.

The Masked Singer's Ugly Sweater Is Charlie Wilson

Robin's guess of Charlie Wilson was correct. Charlie, who's also known as Uncle Charlie, began his career with The Gap Band. They had a song called "Burn Rubber on Me," which explained the picture of tire with the flame. However, Charlie went from being a successful music artist to becoming homeless and sleeping on the streets of Hollywood Boulevard. But then, in 1995, he met and married his wife, Mahin Tat, who was his social worker when he was in a drug rehabilitation program. He's been sober ever since. Charlie's story matched Ugly Sweater's story.

Ugly Sweater also mentioned that the biggest stars want to work with him. In recent years, Charlie has collaborated with stars such as Kanye West, Snoop Dogg, Boyz II Men, and Pharrell. As Robin said, he also collaborated with Charlie on Charlie's song "Smile For Me," which they performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in 2017. In addition, in 2013, Charlie was presented with the Lifetime Achievement Award at the BET Awards.

During Queen Night, Ugly Sweater mentioned that he inspired Snoop Dogg and Nirvana, and even worked with Tupac Shakur. Charlie has collaborated with Snoop Dogg and Tupac. The crying emoji represented his songs, "Crying for You" and "Cry No More."
