Summary Slaton siblings from "1000-lb Sisters" collectively lost 1,000 pounds and navigated complex love lives.
Tammy's past relationships involved controversy due to her partner's behavior hindering her diet and weight-loss journey.
Michael, Amy's constant support on the show, filed for divorce after the couple welcomed their two children.
The cast of 1000-lb Sisters has lost a combined 1,000 pounds since the show premiered in 2020, and their love lives have been as complicated as their weight-loss journeys. The show centers around the lives of superstar sisters Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton, but over the years, the rest of the Slaton family have become mainstays of the series. While pursuing their health and fitness goals, the Slatons have also been busy falling in love, getting married, getting divorced, and even mourning the death of loved ones.
Tammy and Amy grew up with their siblings, Chris Combs, Misty Wentworth Slaton, and Amanda Halterman, in Shawneetown, Illinois. They were raised by a single mother who worked a lot, so the children were often left to their own devices and had to feed themselves. As the 1000-lb Sisters season 5 stars grew into adulthood, they each gained more and more weight. Since making their television debuts, the Slaton siblings have made amazing weight-loss progress, and their love lives have gone through dramatic transformations as well.

Tammy met Jerry Sykes in a BBW chatroom several years before the premiere of 1000-lb Sisters. Tammy's family didn't approve of the relationship because they thought Jerry was a "feeder." Jerry ate a lot of junk food around Tammy, which made it hard for her to stick to her diet. Making matters worse, Jerry was a married man with seven children. Still, Jerry was better than Tammy's other ex, Phillip Redmond. Tammy met Phillip in a BBW chatroom, where he went by the name "The BBW King."
Phillip was clearly a man with a fetish for obese women, which Tammy's family saw as a threat to her weight-loss journey.
Later during the season, Tammy and Phillip had a falling out, and Tammy alleged he was harassing her. Things got so bad Tammy got a restraining order against Phillip. During 1000-lb Sisters season 2, Tammy came out as pansexual, saying, “It means love is love,” adding, “I would date anybody, whether they're transgender, straight, gay.”
Tammy's taste in women hasn't been much better than her questionable taste in men. Tammy lived with her former girlfriend, who remained unnamed. She recalled that she and her ex developed bad habits during their time together, even doing drugs regularly. The relationship came to an end when Tammy's girlfriend cheated on her.
After a health scare, Tammy checked herself into a diet rehab facility where she met another patient, Caleb Willingham. The two fell in love and were married in 2022. Unlike her past relationships, Caleb didn't hold Tammy back from losing weight. In fact, the 1000-lb Sisters star lost enough weight to receive her bariatric surgery, after which she lost over 400 pounds. Sadly, 41-year-old Caleb died in 2023, only six months after the couple tied the knot, due to complications caused by his obesity. During the finale of 1000-lb Sisters season 5, Tammy found herself widowed and on her own again.

When 1000-lb Sisters premiered, Amy and Michael Halterman were newlyweds, and Amy decided to lose weight so she could have children. After four years of marriage and two children together, Michael filed for divorce from Amy. The couple's separation came as a big surprise because Michael had been a constant on 1000-lb Sisters. He was always by Amy's side and was a big help to Tammy. Whenever they went anywhere together, it was Michael pushing Tammy's wheelchair. The couple always seemed happy, but things changed soon after their two sons, Gage and Glenn Halterman, were born.
Amy and Michael's problems were revealed during 1000-lb Sisters season 5, and Michael filed for divorce from Amy in March 2023.

After his first marriage ended in divorce, Chris Combs accepted a manager position at McDonald's in 2012 and immediately connected with Brittany Combs, a fellow manager. They formed an instant friendship, which later turned romantic. In 2016, Chris proposed, and Brittany said yes. Chris and Brittany got married on October 15, 2016, four years before 1000-lb Sisters started airing.
Like his famous sisters, Chris went on his own weight-loss journey over the years. He had bariatric surgery during 1000-lb Sisters season 3 and lost over 150 pounds. Chris has three grandchildren and lost weight, so he could be around for his family for many years. He also wanted to be a good role model for his daughter, who was struggling with her weight.

While filming 1000-lb Sisters season 4, Amanda quietly finalized her divorce from her ex-husband, Jason Halterman. Though the couple amicably parted ways in August 2020, the couple's divorce wasn't finalized until two years later, in August 2022. Jason is the brother of Michael Halterman, who was married to Amy until their recent divorce. Amanda and Jason were married in December 1998 and had four sons together during their 22 years of marriage.
All of Amanda and Jason's sons are adults now, and only one of them was under 18 at the time of his parents' divorce.
Misty Slaton Wentworth
Married To Her First Husband
Misty Wentworth has been married to her husband, David Wentworth, for 23 years and counting, and the pair have four sons. While the rest of her sisters are hot-headed, Misty is seen as the calm, rational force within the family. Her stoic, even-keeled demeanor has likely contributed to the fact that she has such a long, happy marriage.
Like Tammy, Amy, and Chris, Misty and Amanda achieved weight-loss goals. The two Slaton sisters are so close that they had bariatric surgery on the same day, in March 2023, and with the same surgeon. Audiences will learn more about the weight-loss journeys of all the Slatons during 1000-lb Sisters season 6.
