With the community speculating on Patch 1.6.4 content, players are wondering whether ConcernedApe ever takes time off.
Stardew Valley may have just received one of its biggest content drops in the form of the 1.6 Update but the fun isn't ending there as ConcernedApe announces that another patch is on the way. Having launched in 2016, Stardew Valley has proven to be a resounding success for its creator in no small part due to his work in maintaining the game with extensive post-launch support. The dedication and love ConcernedApe has shown to the farming RPG and its massive community has prompted many to question whether he ever takes any time off.
Announced over on X (formerly Twitter), Eric "ConcernedApe" Barone confirmed that PC Patch 1.6.4 will arrive next week and while it'll largely focus on squashing some lingering bugs, it will also incorporate "a few goodies," sparking rampant speculation amongst the player base.
The developer followed up by clarifying that these new additions would be "a fishing thing" as well as "some new mining related stuff." ConcernedApe also promised that the implementation of Patch 1.6.4 won't slow down the release of the 1.6 Update on consoles, which is still in development.

Stardew Valley Continues To Grow
The Game Is Already Massive
Given the scarce details regarding the contents of Patch 1.6.4, the Stardew Valley community is currently speculating on what it could contain. Some are requesting that the fishing mini-game be made slightly easier given that many have complained about its difficulty since launch. Others are hoping that extra fish are added, incentivizing Farmers to once again pick up their rods and begin hunting for some elusive species.
Stardew Valley contains 70 different fish, five of which are Legendary and are especially tough to catch.
As for mining, the risky profession is relatively simple to understand and exceptionally challenging to complete. It's possible that Patch 1.6.4 could add some additional weapons to the game that could make the punishing Skull Cavern or Dangerous Mines dungeons more accessible for players not willing to grind through it with a standard sword. Some more explosive options to speed up the process of destroying multiple rocks in one go would also be a nice touch for those wanting to clear out rooms in one swift move.
As the Stardew Valley community continues to search for secrets in the 1.6 Update, many are surprised that ConcernedApe is adding even more to the game. Many responses to the announcement of the 1.6.4 Patch request that the developer take some time off, insisting that he's already providing players with enough new content. Whether the creator has any additional plans for the residents of Pelican Town remains unknown but he's also currently working on a new project in the form of Haunted Chocolatier, an entirely original game.
