Disneyland Annual Passes: All Magic Key Passes, Prices & Blockout Dates

Disneyland Annual Passes: All Magic Key Passes, Prices & Blockout Dates

Summary Disneyland's Magic Key program offers various tiers with unique perks, making it worthwhile for frequent park visitors.

Magic Key holders can reserve multiple park visits in advance, hop between parks, and enjoy discounts on merchandise and dining.

Be aware of blockout dates specific to each Magic Key tier, as they may restrict access during busy times of the year.

Disneyland is a great destination for sporadic getaways, but it can also be a fun spot for locals or frequent travelers to visit regularly — and annual passes, or Magic Key passes, make that cheaper and more convenient. Disney rolled out its Magic Key program in 2021, replacing the Annual Pass initiative that was in place previously. The Magic Key program differs from the Annual Pass program in name and setup, but it serves a similar function. For those who visit frequently, it could be more worthwhile than purchasing regular Disneyland tickets.

Disneyland's Magic Key program offers several types of passes, and each comes with its own set of benefits for parkgoers. Like the options for ordinary tickets, the offerings within the Magic Key program may seem overwhelming at first glance. Those considering buying into the Magic Key program may require a breakdown of how it works, what each tier offers, and when passes can be used. All of these elements will determine whether this program is worthwhile for each individual.

What Are Disney's Magic Key Passes? How Disneyland's Program Works

Their Main Function Is Similar To The Old Annual Passes

Disney's Magic Key passes function similarly to its former annual passes, allowing holders to visit Disneyland multiple times per year without purchasing more tickets. Those who have Magic Key passes can visit Disneyland as many times as they wish within the pass's lifespan. However, it's important to note that Magic Key holders must have a theme park reservation for the date they're planning to visit Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park. Per Disneyland.com, there are a limited number of Magic Key reservations available each day, so being a pass holder doesn't guarantee entry.

Magic Key holders can make reservations 90 days in advance, but the limited number of openings makes it easier to secure reservations during certain times of year. Pass holders can have multiple reservations for different days, a perk of the program. However, the number of reservations a Magic Key holder can make at one time is determined by the tier they buy into. Disney also discourages no-shows. If a pass holder doesn't show up for their reservation three times in a single 90-day stretch, they'll be barred from making new ones for 30 days.

In addition visiting Disneyland multiple times in a single year, Magic Key passes can be useful because of their Park Hopper benefits. Anyone entering the parks with a Magic Key can move back and forth between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure Park after 11 a.m. As long as the pass holder has a reservation for one of the parks, they'll be able to move back and forth between the two locations after 11 a.m. Park hopping isn't the only benefit of a Magic Key, either. The program also includes special discounts on Genie+ passes, merchandise, dining, and parking.

Where To Buy Disneyland's Magic Key Passes

They Can Be Purchased Online Using A Disney Account

Magic Key passes can be well worth the money for visitors who frequent Disneyland parks, and they're available online. In fact, Magic Keys can only be purchased online using a Disney account. Southern California residents are able to make monthly payments towards these passes, but anyone outside the 90000 to 93599 zip code range will need to pay upfront. Magic Key passes aren't always available, but parkgoers can follow the steps outlined on Disneyland.com to purchase them when they are on sale.

Different Tiers Of Magic Key Passes & How Much They Cost

The Imagine, Enchant, Believe, & Inspire Keys Come With Different Perks

Four different tiers of Magic Key passes are available to parkgoers, and they each come with different perks depending on the price. The four Magic Keys available are as follows: the Imagine Key, the Enchant Key, the Believe Key, and the Inspire Key. The Imagine Key is only available to Southern California residents, but the other passes can be bought by any visitor. Check below to see the perks of each pass.

The Imagine Key - Only Available To SoCal Residents

Price: $499

The Imagine Key is the cheapest of Disney's annual pass offerings, as it's only available to Southern California residents — and as of this writing, it's only available for renewal, so new parkgoers can't buy into it. The Imagine Key enables visitors to visit Disneyland multiple times and park hop. It also includes the following benefits:

Key holders can have up to two park reservations at one time

Users receive 20% off Genie+ purchase when using their pass

Key holders receive 10% off select Disney merchandise

Key holders receive 10$ off select Disney dining

Users get 20% off standard parking in the Toy Story Parking Area

The Enchant Key

Price: $849

The Enchant Key is the cheapest annual pass available for visitors who don't have a Southern California zip code. Like all Magic Keys, it enables holders to visit Disneyland multiple times over the course of a year and move between parks. In addition to that, its perks mirror those of the Imagine Key with one exception (the number of reservations one can hold):

Key holders can have up to four theme park reservations at one time

Key holders receive 20% off Genie+ purchase when using their pass

Users receive 10% off select Disney merchandise

Users receive 10% off select Disney dining

Key holders get 20% off standard parking in the Toy Story Parking Area

The Believe Key

Price: $1,249

The Believe Key is the middle offering for parkgoers outside Southern California, and its higher price point comes with a few additional discounts and perks. The Believe Key functions like other passes in that it allows visitors to hop between parks and visit them multiple times per year. It also comes with the following benefits:

Key holders can have up to six theme park reservations at one time

Key holders receive 20% off Genie+ purchase when using their pass

Users get unlimited digital downloads from Disney PhotoPass

Key holders receive 10% off select Disney merchandise

Key holders receive 10% off select Disney dining

Pass holders get 50% standard parking in the following lots: the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, Pixar Pals Parking Structure, and Toy Story Parking Area

The Inspire Key

Price: $1,649

The Inspire Key is the most expensive of Disneyland's Magic Key offerings, and its main benefit is that it offers higher discounts on merchandise and food, along with free parking. Such expenses can add up, so visitors going to the parks regularly might find this pass worthwhile. Like the others, it allows them to make reservations multiple times per year and move between parks. It also includes:

Key holders can have up to six theme park reservations at one time

Key holders receive 20% off Genie+ purchase when using their pass

Users get unlimited digital downloads from Disney PhotoPass

Pass holders receive 20% off select Disney merchandise

Pass holders receive 15% off select Disney dining

Standard parking is included in the following lots: the Mickey & Friends Parking Structure, Pixar Pals Parking Structure and Toy Story Parking Area

While Magic Key passes can be useful in planning trips to Disneyland, it's worth noting that each of them is subject to blockout dates. Blockout dates are days when Magic Key holders cannot make reservations or use their passes to get into the Disneyland theme parks. These are typically busy dates that fill up quickly, making it difficult to get reservations even without annual passes. Each Magic Key tier is subject to different blockout dates, which can be found on Disneyland's Magic Key calendar. The 2024 and early 2025 blockout dates for each pass can also be found below.

The only confirmed 2024-25 blockout dates for Inspire Key holders are from December 21 to January 3, as the winter holidays are busy at Disneyland parks. Reservations are available the remainder of the year, unless the limited availability for Magic Key members fills up.
