Today's Connections Hints & Answers For April 15, 2024 (Puzzle #308)
Every week starts with Monday, and every Monday starts with Connections, the word-matching game of categories. Today's game had some fun topics and we scored a win overall. If you're having some trouble though we've provided some spoilers below to help you win.
The boom of one-a-day browser-based games seems to have started with Wordle gaining immense popularity in 2021. It seemed like the whole online world was fixated on sharing their attempts using little emoji boxes to avoid spoilers. Since then there have been hundreds of other single-play games that popped up. For us, Connections is the absolute best game to come out of this trend and we're excited to play it with you every day.

INVENT AS YOU GO AD-LIB IMPROV FREESTYLE MAKE UP
I know that I'm supposed to come up with something here to explain this yellow category, but I just can't think of anything. My brain is just empty, maybe if the audience shouted out suggestions...
Green Answers: Revealed & Explained
THINGS BABIES DO BABBLE COO CRAWL NURSE
Interesting choice of words for this category, I would have gone with "Complain Online About Superhero-Movie Castings" or "Moderate Multiple Discord Servers" or even "Write Cheat Guides For Simple Browser-Based Games," all things for babies. I suppose those phrases would be too big for the little boxes though.
Either way, BABBLE and COO were the two words we noticed first, followed quickly by CRAWL. NURSE took a bit for us to notice as we just kept thinking of it as a medical practitioner, and not the actual act.
We're just kidding, you can have your opinions on superhero castings. Let's just all try to relearn how to be civil in our discourse. However, if you actually write a daily cheat guide on a browser-based, casual, word-matching, puzzle game, you are an absolute baby.
Blue Answers: Revealed & Explained
SUPERFICIAL COSMETIC EXTERNAL SHALLOW SURFACE
COSMETIC and SURFACE were the two words that stuck out in the blue category today but it was our leftover words, so it was a win either way. The connection between them all is quite obvious and it wouldn't take much to match them up.
Purple Answers: Revealed & Explained
_____ EFFECT BUTTERFLY DOMINO PLACEBO SIDE
We scored the purple category in third place today as BUTTERFLY and DOMINO stuck out to us like sore thumbs. Fill-in-the-blank is one of our favorite types of Connections categories and it's always a treat when we actually notice the answer before it's shown.
