A preview for Fall of the House of X #4 highlights how powerful one of the X-Men's iconic villains is, but it's not Magneto. Though the two are some of the most powerful and well-known foes the mutant superhero team faces, Magneto and Apocalypse are not on par with one another. The upcoming issue proves that Apocalypse's abilities grant him a very impressive edge despite both being Omega-level mutants.

Fall of the House of X #4 has the creative team of Gerry Duggan, Lucas Werneck, Bryan Valenza, and Travis Lanham. The series continues to showcase the intensifying fight between the world of mutants and Orchis. With the new Krakoan era of mutant life coming to a head, there have been several opportunities to reveal how powerful the X-Men, their allies, and their foes truly are.

This is especially true of Apocalypse, who takes the spotlight in a preview for the upcoming issue. As one of the world's oldest mutants, he is naturally a force to be reckoned with. Now, his power's intensity is even more apparent.

Apocalypse Eliminates Top Threat With Ease in Marvel Preview

The preview for Fall of the House of X #4 features Apocalypse standing ready for battle before facing off against a Stark Sentinel. He makes quick work of it, proving himself to truly be a super-mutant in every sense of the phrase. Within just three pages, he has obliterated this new iteration of a classic mutant-destroying machine. Previous interactions with these behemoths have shown that they are incredibly difficult to defeat, requiring the teamwork of many high-powered mutants. Contrarily, Apocalypse doesn't appear to struggle at all, quickly eliminating his present foe. The synopsis for the issue is as follows:

MY ALLY, MY ENEMY! They say a wounded animal can be the most dangerous kind of animal to face. As the fight between the mutants and Orchis reaches a deadly pitch, a startling revelation rocks the X-Men to their core. The two series that are one come together in one horrible betrayal as the Krakoan Age nears its conclusion.

In Resurrection of Magneto (2024) #4, during an assault on Orchis to save imprisoned mutants, Magneto faces off against a Stark Sentinel. The issue has the creative team of Al Ewing, Luciano Vecchio, David Curriel, Jesus Aburtov, and Joe Sabino. During this fight, Magneto and the two mutants accompanying him are unable to defeat the foe independently. Instead, he, Blue Marvel, and Storm have to combine their powers into a mutant circuit to destroy this even deadlier model of Sentinel. Created by Orchis using Tony Stark's technology, these machines are more fatal to mutants and better prepared to face them, leaving them at a major disadvantage until now.

Magneto Isn't As Powerful As Apocalypse When Facing Stark Sentinels

Close

While the Stark Sentinel in Resurrection of Magneto #4 was able to counteract each ability tossed its way by Blue Marvel, Storm, and Magneto, it could not take the power of all three combined. This insinuates that these Sentinels aren't invincible, but that they are exceedingly difficult to stop considering how powerful Magneto is. However, Apocalypse's power currently seems unstoppable. He ripped through the killer machine with ease, which could potentially help in highlighting weaknesses within the Sentinels' structure or show their limitations. Certain abilities may not be effective unless combined, but Apocalypse's abilities are more than enough to destroy them, making Magneto seem like a weakling against this X-Men foe by comparison.

Fall of the House of X #4 will be available April 17 from Marvel Comics.
