Gene Simmons will serve as the mentor for American Idol season 22 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.

While all of the American Idol season 22 Top 14 finalists are fantastic singers, some will shine brighter than others on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.

American Idol season 22 will celebrate Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night on Sunday, April 21, as the Top 14 finalists take the stage to perform songs by extraordinary artists, but some of the contestants will rock the stage harder than others. The Top 14 contestants were determined after America voted for ten contestants from the Top 20, including Jack Blocker, McKenna Faith Breinholt, Abi Carter, Julia Gagnon, Triston Harper, Kaibrienne, Kayko, Mia Matthews, Will Moseley, and Emmy Russell. Then the judges--Lionel Richie, Katy Perry, and Luke Bryan--saved Jordan Anthony, Roman Collins, Jayna Elise, and Nya from elimination.

For American Idol season 22 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, rock legend and KISS member Gene Simmons will serve as the guest mentor, guiding the contestants through their performances with his singing and performing expertise. Although it's called the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, the inductees include artists from all different musical genres who've made an impact on the world through music. As the Top 14 finalists prepare to perform on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, here's a ranking of who'll give the most electrifying performances.

14 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Jordan Anthony

Saved By The American Idol Judges

Jordan, a 19-year-old from Perth, Australia, almost didn't make it into the Top 14 because he didn't receive enough votes after his performance of "when the party's over" by Billie Eilish. However, the judges saved him after he sang "Attention" by Charlie Puth. Although Jordan is an impressive pop singer, he might not thrive on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night. He'll have to choose a song that allows him to stay true to who he is, while also capturing the essence of the theme night.

Jordan is already starting at a disadvantage due to him not earning enough votes from America and needing to be saved by the judges. Song choice will be crucial for him, but there are some Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductees who match his pop style. He might do well with a song from George Michael, Prince, or even Janet Jackson. Jordan could also think outside of the box and do something completely different. No matter what he chooses, he's going to have an uphill battle on American Idol season 22 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.

13 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Nya

Saved By The American Idol Judges

Close

Nya is a 28-year-old from Manhattan, New York. For her Top 20 performance, she sang a heartfelt version of "Georgia on My Mind" by Ray Charles, but she didn't receive enough votes to move on to the Top 14. However, the judges saved her after her amazing performance of "Water" by Tyla. With her past as a Broadway performer, Nya has experience with being on stage, but this can sometimes work against her if she ends up appearing too theatrical.

Nya has a lot of great options to choose from for her American Idol season 22 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night performance that match her musical style. They include Tina Turner, Donna Summer, and Whitney Houston. However, Nya is going to have to work hard to make sure that her performance feels authentically like her, and not an impersonation or a karaoke singer. If she can do that, she'll easily advance to the Top 12.

Related 10 Ways A Golden Idol Spin-Off Could Transform American Idol As We Know It American Idol has an age range of 15 to 28 years old for auditioning contestants, but a Golden Idol spin-off would change everything about the show.

12 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Kayko

Voted Into Top 14 By America

Kayko, a 23-year-old from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, has mainly sung his original songs so far in the competition, including "Over You," which he sang for his Top 20 performance. When he made it into the Top 14, he again performed his original song "What If?," which was his Idol Arena song. With his strong vocals and outstanding songwriting ability, Kayko definitely has what it takes to go far in the competition.

However, because Kayko has only been shown singing original songs so far on American Idol (his Showstoppers Round performance of The All-American Rejects' "Gives You Hell" wasn't aired), it's still a mystery as to what he'd sound like singing a different artist's song. Although he has a bit of a theater vibe, Kayko might be able to find his inner rock star if he sings a song by Billy Joel or Elton John. Whatever song he chooses, it'll be exciting to hear Kayko sing a song that he didn't write and make it his own.

11 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Jack Blocker

Voted Into Top 14 By America

Jack is a 25-year-old from Dallas, Texas. For his Top 20 performance, he sang an exciting version of "You Don't Mess Around with Jim" by Jim Croce. For his celebration song, he sang "Feeling Whitney" by Post Malone. While Jack has a stellar voice, his inexperience on stage might make it hard for him to convey rock star confidence on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night.

Jack has to choose the perfect song in order to advance to the next round. While he could do well singing a song by Cat Stevens, Van Morrison, or R.E.M., it might be even more fun to see him do something completely different and turn a Madonna song on its head. Whatever Jack does, he'll be sure to continue to shake up the competition like he did at his audition during the American Idol season 22 premiere, when the crew voted to overturn Lionel and Katy's votes and send him to Hollywood.

10 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Roman Collins

Saved By The American Idol Judges

Roman is a 24-year-old gospel singer from Long Beach, California. For his Top 20 performance, he took the audience and the judges to church with his version of "Never Would Have Made It" by Marvin Sapp, but he didn't earn enough votes from America to move on to the Top 14. However, the judges decided to save him after his mind-blowing rendition of "It's a Man's Man's Man's World" by James Brown.

Although Roman is at a disadvantage after nearly being eliminated, hopefully that was the wake-up call that his fans needed to vote for him. He can definitely advance to the next round if he chooses the perfect song, and he has so many classics from which to choose. He could pick another James Brown song, or sing something by Ray Charles, Sam Cooke, or even Little Richard. He tends to be theatrical, but now he must prove that he's current and relevant. Roman has what it takes to win American Idol, but he needs to capture the home audience's attention to get their votes.

9 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Emmy Russell

Voted Into Top 14 By America

Emmy is a 25-year-old from Nashville, Tennessee, who also happens to be country music legend Loretta Lynn's granddaughter. For her Top 20 performance, she wowed the judges and America with her original song, "Want You." Her celebration song was "Skinny," another original song, which she sang during her audition. Emmy is an incredible songwriter with a sweet singing voice, but she's known for having a quiet persona.

Although Emmy has been building her confidence and coming out of her shell more since her first audition, she's a country artist, who doesn't have rock and roll swagger. Luckily for her, legendary country artist Dolly Parton was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, so she could choose one of her songs. However, it would be exciting to see her break out of her comfort zone and sing a song by someone like Bonnie Raitt or Sheryl Crow, both of whom have songs with country vibes. Most importantly though, Emmy is going to have to channel her inner rock star in order to survive the night.

8 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Julia Gagnon

Voted Into Top 14 By America

Julia, a 21-year-old from Cumberland, Maine, is a powerhouse vocalist who blew the judges away during her audition with her stunning version of "Ain't No Way" by Aretha Franklin. They even gave her one of the three coveted platinum tickets of the season. For her Top 20 performance, she sang an inspiring version of "I Believe" by Fantasia, followed by her celebration song of "I Need a Favor" by Jelly Roll when she made it into the Top 14. Julia has the showmanship of a true rock performer, so Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night could be a big night for her.

Song choice will be key for Julia during Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night. It would be thrilling to hear her take on another song by Aretha Franklin, or Etta James, Nina Simone, Whitney Houston, or even Queen. Julia has what it takes to go far in the competition, and singing a song by one of these iconic artists could help her advance to the next round.

7 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Mia Matthews

Voted Into Top 14 By America

Mia is a 19-year-old country singer from Centre, Alabama. For her Top 20 performance, Mia sang "Wildflowers and Wild Horses" by Lainey Wilson. When she made it into the Top 14, Mia sang "Burning House" by Cam for her celebration song. Mia's confidence has been growing as she's been advancing in the competition, and she's blossomed into a country star.

Mia can really shine on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night if she chooses the right song. She should choose a song by Dusty Springfield, Sheryl Crow, or Dolly Parton. She has a great story-telling quality when she sings, so Dolly might be the best choice for her. Mia has the potential to go very far in the competition because country singers have traditionally done very well on American Idol. She has all of the qualities that could make her a big star after the show as well.

Kaibrienne, a 20-year-old from Henefer, Utah, will be in her element during Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night. She's been singing rock songs for the majority of the competition, including her Hollywood Week Showstoppers song "Simple Man" by Lynyrd Skynyrd and her Top 24 performance of Bryan Adams' "Heaven." For her Top 20 performance, she sang an original song called "girl i am now." She celebrated her advancement to the Top 14 by singing another rock song, "Zombie," by The Cranberries.

Kaibrienne has captivated people with her emotional performances on American Idol, during which her voice has even broken. She should choose a song in which she can really rock out. Since so many of her songs have been so serious, something fun and exciting by Pat Benatar, Duran Duran, or even Bon Jovi might be a good choice for her. Kaibrienne is a mystical force to be reckoned with in the competition, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night will be her night to shine.

5 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Jayna Elise

Saved By The American Idol Judges

Close

Jayna is a 22-year-old from Washington, D.C. She returned to the show after competing on American Idol season 21. For her Top 20 performance, she put a creative rock spin on the Mariah Carey classic, "My All," but she didn't make it through to the Top 14 with America's vote. However, after her performance of "All I Wanted" by Paramore, the judges saved her.

Jayna is coming into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night at a disadvantage because the vote didn't go her way the week before, but she's such a bright light that she'll surely set the stage on fire. She should continue to choose empowering songs that will allow her to show how strong her voice really is. While Whitney Houston might be an obvious choice for her powerhouse voice, a rock song by Journey, Aerosmith, or even Radiohead could be even better. Hopefully Jayna's fans will be motivated to vote for her, and she'll easily advance to the next round of American Idol season 22.

Voted Into Top 14 By America

Abi is a 21-year-old from Indio, California, who wowed the judges with her stunning rendition of Billie Eilish's "What Was I Made For?" at her audition. She even earned one of the three platinum tickets of the season after her performance. For her Top 20 performance, Abi sang an emotional version of "Welcome to the Black Parade" by My Chemical Romance. After she made it into the Top 14, she sang "My Mind" by Yebba.

Throughout American Idol season 22, Abi has given everyone chills with her haunting voice and ability to make songs her own. She definitely has an inner rock star that needs to be unleashed, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night will be the perfect time to do it. Abby should embrace the rock aspect of the night and sing a song by Aerosmith or Guns N' Roses. It would be an unexpected choice that would blow the audience away.

3 American Idol Season 22 Contestant Triston Harper

Voted Into Top 14 By America

Triston is a 15-year-old from McIntosh, Alabama, and is the youngest American Idol season 22 contestant. With his gorgeous singing voice and wise-beyond-his-years personality, he's consistently impressed the judges with his performances. For his Top 20 performance, Triston sang an inspiring original song called "H-O-P-E." When he made it into the Top 14, he sang "'Til You Can't" by Cody Johnson for his celebration song.

Triston delivers outstanding performances every week, and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night should be no different. The country singer could choose to sing a country song by Johnny Cash or Dolly Parton, but it also might be fun to see him branch out into some other genres as well. Triston could sound great singing a song by Elvis Presley, Stevie Wonder, or even Nirvana, but it would definitely be out of the box for him. However, with his extraordinary voice and incredible showmanship, Triston will advance to the next American Idol season 22 round no matter which song he chooses.

McKenna is a 25-year-old from Gilbert, Arizona whose incredible vocals and star quality could make her the next American Idol. For her Top 20 performance, McKenna sang a stunning version of Joni Mitchell's "Both Sides, Now." When she made it into the Top 14, she sang "Tumbleweed" by Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl, which was her late birth mother's band. She'd sung part of the song at her audition as well, when her birth family surprised her by meeting her in person for the first time.

McKenna is the kind of singer who can sing any song and make it her own, so she has many options when it comes to Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night. She could sing songs by Joni Mitchell, Carole King, Carly Simon, Linda Ronstadt, or even Sheryl Crow. However, it would also be exciting to see her completely rock out to a song by Janis Joplin, Pat Benatar, Stevie Nicks, or Heart. Whichever song McKenna chooses, she's guaranteed to have a fantastic night on Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Night, which will bring her one step closer to being the next American Idol.

Will, a 23-year-old from Hazlehurst, Georgia, has been a front-runner to win American Idol season 22 since his audition. For his Top 20 performance, the country singer sang an excellent rendition of "Makin' Me Look Good Again" by Drake White. When he made it into the Top 14, Will sang a reprise of his already-sounds-like-a-hit original song, "Gone for Good," which he'd previously sung at his audition.

Will has the vocal talent and stage presence of a seasoned performer, so he can sing anything and be successful. Will could choose to stick to his country roots and sing a song by someone such as Johnny Cash, but it would also be amazing to hear him sing a rock song by The Rolling Stones or The Doors. The possibilities for Will are endless, and, no matter what he sings, he'll be moving one step closer to competing in the American Idol season 22 finale and winning it all.
