The Prime Video adaptation has been a critical success, earning strong reviews from audiences and critics.

Fallout season 2 isn't confirmed and will depend on viewership.

A new piece of Fallout TV show fan art imagines the main cast in the animated Pip-Boy style, including one character's decapitated head. Based on the popular video game franchise, Fallout season 1 was released on Prime Video earlier this month, following Ella Purnell's Lucy as she emerges from her sheltered existence in an underground vault to the post-apocalyptic wasteland that exists above. The show also follows Walton Goggins' Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul, and Aaron Moten's Maximus, a member of the Brotherhood of Steel.

Artist MabramS on X, formerly Twitter, now shares a fun piece of art imagining the cast of Fallout as Pip-Boy creations. Check out the art below:

The Pip-Boy (Personal Information Processor) is a small computer device that users wear on their wrists, and it features a distinctive art style for its male mascot, Vault Boy. The art re-imagines characters like Lucy, Cooper, and Maximus in this style, but it also features a fun nod to a key plotline in the show revolving around the severed head of Dr. Siggi Wilzig.

Critics & Audiences Love Prime Video's Adaptation

Variety reported earlier this month that Fallout season 1 features a production budget around $153 million, which is just over $19 million an episode. This makes the adaptation a wildly expensive endeavor, and it falls just below the $20 million per episode budget of Netflix's 3 Body Problem. Even though the Fallout game franchise has a large following, the show's large budget still made it quite the risk.

While viewership figures haven't yet been revealed, the reception to the series has been overwhelmingly positive. The Fallout season 1 critics' reviews praise the worldbuilding, story, characters, tone, and general visual presentation. As of writing, the series holds a strong 94% on Rotten Tomatoes, meaning the critical response has been nearly unanimous. The audience score for Fallout is also strong at 88%, meaning the show seems to be resonating with general viewers.

Fallout season 2 isn't yet a guarantee, and whether Amazon renews the show will come down more to viewership and engagement figures than to reviews. The positive reception does, however, suggest that the series could be bringing in a sizable audience. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Fallout, but the series evidently is off to a strong start.
