Aang: The Last Airbender, the upcoming Avatar: The Last Airbender movie, has been delayed. The trilogy-kickstarting movie following the adult Aang (Eric Nam) is being directed by Lauren Montgomery, who was a storyboard artist on season 3 of the original show, a position she also held on its spinoff The Legend of Korra in addition to being a supervising producer. The cast of the movie also features Dante Basco reprising his role as Zuko, now the Fire Lord, alongside Dionne Quan as Toph, Jessica Matten as Katara, Roman Zaragoza as Sokka, and Dave Bautista as an as-yet-unnamed villain.
Per Variety, the upcoming Aang: The Last Airbender has had its release date delayed from its previously announced premiere on October 10, 2025. The animated movie is now set to debut on January 20, 2026. This three-month delay comes as Paramount retools their upcoming release schedule, and there has been no specific reason given for the change.
