Creator FellowClown plans to expand the mod with more content in the future, urging players to report any bugs for fixes in subsequent updates.
Stardew Valley may be a game about living a fulfilling life through honest work and making friends, but one dedicated fan is more interested in spending some time looking after the dead with an impressive mod that fleshes out Pelican Town's cemetery. Ever since ConcernedApe's excellent farming RPG launched, the central town has played host to a strange graveyard that only features in a handful of events. While it may be spooky, it does stand out as an oddly non-interactive element in a game that's usually filled with secrets to discover.
Nexus Mods user FellowClown shared their solution for the graveyard's lack of excitement by creating the "Passerby Cemetary" mod, which is an extensive overhaul that aims to make the area more engaging and provide a suitable resting place for those who have passed. The add-on includes five new NPCs that come equipped with their own quests, dialogue, and events for players to unlock as they befriend them. Moreover, beyond adding the titular Passerby Cemetery as a new location to explore, the mod also includes another secret location that farmers will need to discover on their own.

Respect The Dead And Those Who Look After Them
Aside from the new characters, who include the likes of Maverick the graveyard keeper, and Kaia the museum greeter, the mod also grants players access to even more facilities. A new animal house dedicated to tropical creatures can be now built and Dodo birds can be rescued from extinction and kept on the farm. There are also plenty of additional crops to grow and recipes to learn, meaning Passerby Cemetery should keep enthusiasts busy for quite some time. It's worth noting that FellowClown specifies that the mod does contain some darker story elements that may upset some players.
FellowClown also insists that while the mod already offers plenty of original content, they intend to expand upon it even further with additional updates to grow the characters and their various heart events. New NPCs, quests, and items will be added in the future but there's currently no timeline on when these extras can be expected. The creator requests that anyone who tries the mod and discovers a bug report it so that it can fixed in a subsequent patch.
Only one of the gravestones in Pelican Town's cemetery has a name engraved upon it: Mona. She is speculated to be Abigail's deceased sister.
Stardew Valley is already a massive game that continues to grow thanks to its passionate player base creating a plethora of mods to build upon ConcernedApe's foundation. Some of these are minor, only addressing small quality-of-life tweaks, while others, like Passerby Cemetery, are impressive overhauls that demonstrate the community's talent. Aside from the official updates from the developer, it seems like there's always some fresh fan-created content coming to Pelican Town.
