The Bluey season 3 finale, which aired in the US on Disney+ on April 14, had viewers of all ages tearing up. Emotions ran high for many reasons: "The Sign" centers on the Heeler family's impending move to a new city, but it also feels like a series finale episode. Created by Joe Brumm and produced by Queensland's Ludo Studio, the series about an anthropomorphic cattle dog puppy took Australia (and, later, the world) by storm after it debuted in 2018. The show's titular character, who starts off as a 6-year-old pup, is full of energy and imagination.
Bluey often tackles challenging topics, making them accessible to viewers of all ages... "The Sign" is no exception.
Alongside her parents, Bandit and Chilli, and her younger sister, Bingo, Bluey learns valuable life lessons. In fact, Bluey often tackles serious issues, making them accessible to viewers of all ages. Some episodes of the beloved show even prove that Bluey is for adults and parents as much as it is for younger fans. "The Sign" is no exception. The Bluey Season 3 Finale Is Full Of Satisfying Easter Eggs
Close
Filled with Easter eggs, references, and cameos Bluey's "The Sign" episode was incredibly satisfying on many levels. In addition to wrapping up Rad and Frisky's wedding subplot, the episode featured several callbacks to early entries in the series. For starters, Nana and Grandpa Bob prove that older dogs can floss during a wedding dance sequence, and Bluey's beloved runaway balloon, Greeny, makes a blink-and-you-miss-it appearance. The special even paid off Bluey's most devastating subplot by confirming that Bluey's Aunt Brandy, who was struggling with infertility, is happily pregnant.
Bluey probably won't return with new episodes until at least 2025.
One of the most emotional moments in Bluey's "The Sign" referenced the now-iconic "Baby Race" episode of the series. In the season-two installment, Chilli recalls baby Bluey's journey to learn how to walk. Viewers discover that Chilli felt upset that Bluey wasn't advancing as quickly as her peers — until a fellow mom lets her know that it's okay. At the end of the emotional episode, Chilli stands in the kitchen as Bluey takes her first steps. Before leaving the house in "The Sign," Chilli stands in the kitchen, recalling "Baby Race" in a beautifully full-circle moment.

There Will Be A Break Before More Bluey Episodes Are Released

For a while, viewers feared that Bluey wouldn't return for season 4. Although Ludo Studio has confirmed that Bluey season 4 is in the works, production hasn't begun. Producer Dale Pearson revealed that Bluey's writers would be taking a much-deserved break after penning over 150 episodes pretty much back-to-back. Once Ludo Studio's team is well-rested and ready, it's hard to imagine that a season-four renewal wouldn't immediately follow. If "The Sign" had been the Bluey series finale, it would've hit all the right notes. Plus, ending while a series is still great is best.
All episodes of Bluey's first three seasons are now streaming on Disney+.
