While González also gets to show off her singing chops, the role is very action-forward, which is something that she's become increasingly identified with over the last few years.
The diversely-talented González gained popularity at a young age for her role in the Argentinian Nickelodeon show Sueña conmigo, and as a recording artist who released albums in 2009 and 2012. Since then, she has gained increasingly more significant roles in American cinema and television, with her role in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare acting as her latest high-profile starring role. Three major collaborations in a short span prove how much the action director.
The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare is González's first collaboration with action director Guy Ritchie, but it won't be her last. She is already slated to star in Ritchie's next two movies, which will feature some of the highest-profile casts she's ever been a part of. 2025 will see her star alongside Jake Gyllenhaal and Henry Cavill in In the Grey, an action crime thriller following a group of specialists who operate outside the law. While no release date has been announced, González will also star in Ritchie's upcoming heist adventure film Fountain of Youth alongside John Krasinski and Natalie Portman.

Guy Ritchie has a developed a tendency to cast actors for multiple movies, which is not an uncommon practice for any director. Ritchie has famously partnered with Jason Statham for many years, for example, and In the Grey will represent his third collaboration with Henry Cavill. It seems clear that González has developed her own working partnership with Ritchie, which means she'll likely continue to be cast in his biggest and most successful movies.
Eiza González Will Only Become More Popular
She has evolved from a regular side character to a true star and box office draw.
For the first few years of her career, Eiza González was mostly featured in co-starring roles as a side character, or as part of an ensemble cast like she was for The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. It appears that her prominence is shifting, however, as evidenced by her leading role in 2022's Ambulance and the upcoming In the Grey. She will also be the lead in the upcoming scifi film Ash, from director Flying Lotus and executive producer Neill Blomkamp (District 9).
González appears to have developed into a bona fide action movie star, capable of leading a film and having enough name recognition and acclaim to be a box office draw on her own merits. While she is part of an ensemble in The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare, she manages to stand out among the cast with her singing ability and giddy violent streak. With big-budget action movies in her existing filmography and more on the horizon for the immensely talented Mexican actress, it's clear that she'll continue to grow in popularity, especially with action fans.
