Several actors who have portrayed legendary science fiction characters are already set to have major roles in The Acolyte season 1. Dafne Keen's Jecki Lon has been likened to X-23, her character in Logan, but with a lightsaber. Carrie-Anne Moss, best known for her role as Trinity in the Matrix franchise, and her character, Master Indara, will likely take inspiration from the legendary sci-fi series. Additionally, Lee Jung-jae's Master Sol, could be quite similar to one of his most prominent roles: Gi-hun in Squid Game. Their casting seems to be part of a larger trend of reimagining beloved characters from different franchises as part of Star Wars.
The first two episodes of The Acolyte premiere on Disney+ on June 4.

It shouldn't be difficult for future seasons of The Acolyte to find ways to incorporate even more sci-fi legends. Since The Acolyte takes place about 100 years before the prequels, there's ample room for new characters to be introduced, even after the first season. It would also make sense to continue this trend, as being able to advertise the involvement of prominent actors is a big advantage. While there are definitely signs that point to this trend continuing, there's no way to tell for certain so far in advance of the next season.
It's currently unclear whether The Acolyte season 2 will feature more prominent science fiction actors, or whether it will happen at all. The show's future does seem bright, though, based on the high-profile actors already tied to it and the intriguing story details that have been revealed so far. If The Acolyte is a success, it could be the key to bringing even more perfect fan-castings into the Star Wars galaxy.
