Heartbreak High season 2 is Netflix's return to the stories, romances, and angst of Hartley High in the Australian comedy-drama, now with a handful of new students and teachers. A soft reboot of the 1994 Australian TV program of the same name, Heartbreak High is a Netflix show centered on the faculty and high schoolers at Hartley. Although it's an ensemble show, the action primarily focuses on Amerie (Ayesha Madon) and Harper's (Asher Yasbinek) friendship turned rivalry in season 1. Season 2 opens with the school on fire and then backtracks to explain. Just another year at Hartley High.
Season 1 of the series premiered in September 2022 and then there was a long wait for season 2, which finally arrived in April 2024. Heartbreak High is a unique blend of Australian humor and slang with the mature storylines of other popular teen series like Euphoria and Sex Education for a familiar TV show that still doesn't feel like a retread. There's a focus on representation in the series not always seen in similar teen shows, and every main character contributes a lot to Heartbreak High season 2.
