Gyeongseong Creature season 1 was a historical drama with elements of science fiction, allowing the actor to play an action hero amidst a complicated love story between Tae-sang and Chae-ok (played by Han So-hee). Still, despite the very different setting and tone, there are some similarities between Park Seo-joon’s Gyeongseong Creature character and What’s Wrong With Secretary Kim’s Young-joon. Firstly, both are a successful businessman in their respective areas. Additionally, Tae-sang is known as a bachelor just like Young-joon.

Similar to Young-joon, Tae-sang used to focus way too much on himself and his business. As a result, the lead Gyeongseong Creature character was never part of a long-lasting relationship. Whereas Mi-son needed to live a life outside of her professional career and build new relationships other than the ones from work, Ji-won had left an abusive marriage and wanted to rebuild the other aspects of her life. The biggest difference between the two K-dramas is the supernatural aspect of Marry My Husband, which featured time travel.
