Chicago PD’s Dawson & Halstead Actors Reunite With Voight In Joyful New Photo

Summary Jon Seda and Jesse Lee Soffer, who played Antonio Dawson and Jay Halstead in Chicago PD reunite with Hank Voight actor Jason Beghe in a new image

Soffer is already expected to reprise his role as Halstead in Chicago PD season 11.

The image poses questions about the possibility of Seda reprising Dawson in Chicago PD.

Former Chicago PD stars Jon Seda and Jesse Lee Soffer, who played Antonio Dawson and Jay Halstead reunite with their former on-screen boss, Jason Beghe's Hank Voight in a new image. A decade since One Chicago expanded on the heels of Chicago Fire's success, much has changed in Chicago PD. Currently, only five original characters are remaining in the series. While cast reshuffles are normal for long-running series and many great characters have eventually joined the project, there's still something special about Voight's inaugural team.

So seeing Seda and Soffer get together with Beghe in a new image as Chicago Fire season 11 winds down is nostalgic for those who have been watching the police procedural since the beginning. Check out the snap from Seda's official Instagram account below:

Unfortunately, Seda doesn't reveal when and where the image was taken. That being said, the photo also includes Benjamin Levy Aguilar, who plays Intelligence's latest recruit, Dante Torres. Regardless of the specifics of the image, it's great to see three original cast members of Chicago PD come together.

Will Jon Seda’s Antonio Dawson Return In Chicago Fire Season 11?

Voight's Intelligence Needs Dawson Now More Than Ever.

Close

There was no clear reason given as to why Seda exited Chicago PD after season 6. However, there were reports citing the idea that Dawson's story has run its course and it was simply best to wrap up his arc. He was supposed to spearhead the failed fourth One Chicago show, Chicago Justice, but after that was canceled, he briefly returned to Intelligence, only to eventually cap off his run. Since he didn't die and Seda still gets along with his former co-workers, it wouldn't be difficult to reincorporate him into Chicago PD.

If anything, season 11 may even be the best time for Dawson's much-anticipated comeback. While it's unclear when and where the aforementioned image is taken, there are theories that the reunion takes place during the latest Chicago PD wrap party. Soffer is already confirmed to return as Halstead a year after he exited the procedural, which explains his appearance. If Seda is also set to make a surprise return as Dawson in the current year, it will explain his attendance at the get-together. Assuming that this is the case, his homecoming comes at a time when Intelligence direly needs support.

If Seda does make an appearance as Dawson in Chicago PD season 11, it's curious if it's a one-time thing or if NBC and Wolf Entertainment are planning on bringing him back regularly. All One Chicago shows are already confirmed to return during the 2024-2025 TV season, and by then, Voight will be another man down with Tracy Spiridakos' Hailey Upton leaving at the end of the year. Instead of bringing in new characters, recruiting a familiar face like Dawson would make things much easier for the show.

Chicago PD season 11 airs every Thursday, 10pm ET on CBS.
