Stevens' character in Abigail not only makes the movie's ending more intense, but also demonstrates Steven's ability to be menacing and deceptive to both the audience and characters, which may bode well for Cuckoo. Throughout the film, Stevens' character's motives remain a mystery as they hunt Abigail despite his clear skill and analytical mind, only revealing his desire for revenge once he has all the pieces in place. Stevens has had recent success in the horror genre, with appearances in projects such as Guillermo del Toro's Cabinet of Curiosities reaching critical acclaim. His characterization in each scene of the Abigail movie shows that, with Cuckoo's strong premise and Abigail's positive fan reception, Stevens may be on his way to further success as fans will likely follow his work in the genre. This could lead to a strong reception for Cuckoo and added popularity for Abigail as new fans sink their teeth into the stories of both films.
