An amazing new Xbox Series X inspired by the popular X-Men '97 animated series has been revealed. Disney+'s X-Men '97 returned to the acclaimed X-Men animated series of the 90s, bringing back many of the original voice actors, such as Cal Dodd (Wolverine), Alison Sealy-Smith (Storm), and Lenore Zann (Rogue), and picked up the story not long after the original show left off while venturing into darker territory in more recent episodes that likely wouldn't have been allowed in the original show due to Fox Kids' strict censorship at the time.

The official Xbox X account shared an image of the official X-Men-themed console, which shared comic panel-esque imagery of the X-Men fighting a sentinel on one side, and an image of the team posing on the other.

Accompanying the custom console design is a Wolverine-themed controller, which matches the character's iconic yellow costume, with blue thumbsticks, and a red D-pad to match his belt.

How To Get The X-Men '97 Xbox Series X

Unfortunately, The Design Won't Be On General Release

To get the X-Men '97-themed Xbox Series X, players have until May 20, 2024, to enter a sweepstakes to win it. This contest follows a tradition of sweepstakes projects devised by gaming, movie, or TV companies to drum up excitement for impending releases, with previous Xbox designs such as the one to celebrate the release of Eidos-Montréal 2021 Guardians of the Galaxy game or Ubisoft's Far Cry 6 that same year. Unfortunately, these consoles were never sold on the general retail market, making the sweepstakes the only way players stand a chance of getting one.

As pointed out by PostUp_SOG, there would certainly be a market for such a design if Xbox were to sell it, even in limited quantities. While the console follows the aforementioned pattern, Xbox does release different controller designs more regularly, and players can create their own using the company's Design Lab, in which they can choose a custom color for the main controller shell, thumbsticks, bumpers and triggers, and D-pad, so they can always recreate the Wolverine design shown for themselves in Design Lab if they weren't concerned about having the X-Men '97-themed packaging.

The Xbox Series X sweepstakes isn't the only gaming crossover Disney has had to celebrate the release of X-Men '97, as it also unveiled a nostalgia-filled arcade cabinet with several of the franchise's best games from the 90s and early 2000s. The animated series is currently released weekly on Disney+ and has been extremely highly praised by fans and critics alike.
