Vanderpump Rules star Rachel “Raquel” Leviss has been vocal about Tom Sandoval’s treatment of her during her time in a mental health facility after the fallout of Scandoval, but she’s calling him out for even more manipulative behavior on her new podcast episode. While Tom’s manipulative behavior isn’t a surprise to Vanderpump Rules viewers, understanding the depths with which he allegedly tried to keep Rachel from seeking treatment is overwhelmingly dark. Tom, who was going through one of the most difficult parts of his life, likely wanted Rachel around to support him and move forward. Even so, knowing just how much pain she was in and how difficult things had been after the fallout of Scandoval, attempting to manipulate her into not seeking the treatment she needed was wrong of Tom. His inability to face the consequences of his actions is painfully obvious.
Throughout Vanderpump Rules season 11 Tom’s behavior have been scrutinized by the cast and the viewers, even though the show itself has been working hard to even the playing field. Though Tom has done some terrible things in the series, the show is attempting to find a way to redeem his character while still allowing for the fact that he’s made some extreme mistakes. In humanizing Tom, the show has at times, dehumanized Rachel. Taking her narrative back, Rachel has been working hard on her podcast to set the record that Vanderpump Rules has presented straight.
Vanderpump Rules airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m. EDT on Bravo, then streams the following day on Peacock.
