Genshin Impact 4.6: Should You Pull For Arlecchino Or Lyney (Pros & Cons)
Summary Arlecchino & Lyney star in Phase 1 Genshin Impact 4.6 banners, with the Fatui Harbinger making her debut as a playable character.
Arlecchino is 5-star Pyro polearm DPS with a unique Bond of Life mechanic that is risky but increases her overall damage output.
Lyney is 5-star Pyro bow DPS who relies on Charged Attacks and often uses a mono-Pyro team comp to increase his overall damage.
Having to choose to pull for Arlecchino or Lyney in Genshin Impact 4.6’s banners can be a difficult task, especially considering how similar the characters are in some aspects and whether or not they will fit some team comps. Arlecchino is finally becoming a playable character after her debut as an NPC during the Fontaine storyline – in fact, she is the only new character in Genshin Impact 4.6. Nevertheless, the patch is bringing in a load of content beyond her release as a playable unit. This includes a new area to the south of the Fontaine region.
In addition to that, the update is also adding two new important Character Story quests. The first of them revolves around Arlecchino herself, which will be set in Fontaine and help explore her relationship with the House of the Hearth. The other questline will be focused on Cyno, set in the region of Sumeru, and how he gained his powers. The update is massive for a late-year patch, which is good since players will have plenty of content. During this time, they may even pull for the new character or try their luck with rerun banners in Genshin Impact 4.6.

Arlecchino & Lyney Are In Phase 1 Banners In Genshin Impact 4.6
In Phase 2, Wanderer & Baizhu Will Rerun In Banners
Close
As was announced during the Version 4.6 livestream, following a series of leaks weeks before, the Phase 1 banners will star Arlecchino and Lyney. As was previously mentioned, the Fatui Harbinger is making her debut in the game. Lyney, on the other hand, is going through his first rerun since his arrival back in Version 4.0. They will be featured in banners simultaneously, so, if players do not have an abundant source of Primogems in Genshin Impact, they may have to make a choice between both characters since obtaining both in a single run can be difficult.
Phase 2 banners, which are expected to start on May 15, will host reruns of Wanderer and Baizhu.
Pros & Cons Of Pulling For Arlecchino In Genshin Impact
Arlecchino Is A 5-Star Polearm Pyro DPS
Those considering pulling for Arlecchino during Version 4.6 should be fully aware of her pros and her cons when it comes to gameplay. The Fatui Harbinger, also known as the Knave, is a 5-star Pyro unit who uses a polearm in battle. Her role in team comps is that of a main DPS, meaning she carries the responsibility of dealing the largest amount of damage to opponents. The big thing with Arlecchino is her Bond of Life mechanic, in which she sacrifices a portion of her possible healing potential to deal more damage and spread Pyro in Genshin Impact.

Bond of Life is a debuff that takes over a portion of her HP. Instead of consuming HP to augment her powers, like Hu Tao, Xiao, or Neuvillette, for instance, Arlecchino gets this debuff. This effect sees that she cannot recover any lost HP unless she clears Bond of Life beforehand – this can be done by attacking and through healing. It can be a risky mechanic since it will put a lot of pressure on Arlecchino, but the result is Normal Attacks infused with Pyro and boosted in damage output. This is her central gameplay mechanic in Genshin Impact.
If Arlecchino has a Bond of Life equal to 30% of her HP, she will need to heal through those 30% before being able to heal her HP bar per si.
The risk involved in using the Bond of Life feature is both a pro and a con. If players have a team comp that can help her stay alive even with the debuff, such as a powerful shielder, they shouldn’t have many problems and will still be able to take full advantage of Arlecchino’s complete DPS potential. If players lack a team comp that can keep her alive, it may be better to invest in another type of Pyro DPS. Different from HP-loss characters, Bond of Life puts extra pressure because it impedes immediate healing when things get tough.
Arlecchino’s build in Genshin Impact is a fairly easy one to achieve. There are plenty of great weapons for Arlecchino, even if players are unable to grab her signature 5-star polearm, which is the best since it benefits her Bond of Life mechanic directly. Players will, however, have to spend some extra time farming Artifacts, since the best set for Arlecchino was released in Version 4.6, too. meaning it was impossible to pre-farm. She can also fit into a wide variety of team comps, even if she excels in specific parties, like those focused on Overloaded Elemental Reactions.
Pros & Cons Of Pulling For Lyney In Genshin Impact
Lyney Is A 5-Star Bow Pyro DPS
Much like Arlecchino, Lyney is also a 5-star Pyro DPS character, though he uses a bow in battle. His specialty is using Charged Attacks to create Grin-Malkin Hats, that aggro opponents, thus taking attention away from Lyney himself. Lyney is also a magnificent damage dealer, capable of melting through tough opponents. There are two big catches to his gameplay kit in Genshin Impact, however. The first is that, to use his Charged Attack efficiently, Lyney consumes his own HP. This means he will be reliant on a strong healer in his team comp.
The second detail is that Lyney’s power grows with the more Pyro units he has in his team comp. Those looking to maximize his DPS potential may have to see themselves with a mono-Pyro team instead of a varied one. This is not exactly something bad, but it can limit their options when facing different types of content – if they face a set of Pyro enemies in the Spiral Abyss in Genshin Impact, for instance, they may have trouble destroying shields or even getting damage through to the enemies’ health bars.
It is worth noting that Lyney does work well with other team comps, but the damage boost he gains from other Pyro units in his party is significant.
Lyney is quite easy to build, too, and all of the contents needed to level him and optimize his damage output were already obtainable in the game before Version 4.6, meaning players could already have some spare Artifacts that decrease the time invested in farming. The same is true for Lyney’s Ascension materials in Genshin Impact.
Is Arlecchino Or Lyney Better In Genshin Impact 4.6
Similarities In Role & Element Narrow The Decision
Ultimately, it is impossible to determine whether Arlecchino or Lyney is a better choice for the Phase 1 banners in Version 4.6. It will depend a lot on the player’s needs and preferences when it comes to gameplay. Arlecchino is mostly a Pyro DPS with a lot of damage output and a gameplay mechanic that is worth its high risk. She is at her best when mixed in with team comps that specialize in Elemental Reactions.
Related Genshin Impact 4.7 Leaks: New Character Will Change Team Comps Forever Leaked information about a rumored new character in Genshin Impact 4.7 may indicate that the current state of team comps will change drastically.
Lyney, on the other hand, has a less risky mechanic since he can mitigate his HP-loss with less effort and still deal a large amount of damage. To reach his peak form, however, players may be required to set Lyney in a mono-Pyro team comp, which can limit when he is used. Regardless of who players choose to invest in, if they beat the odds and get the featured 5-star character, they will have a superb Pyro DPS in their hands that can become their main character in Genshin Impact moving forward.
