Totally Spies! season 7 is the next installment of the French anime-inspired spy-fi series from creators Vincent Chalvon-Demersay and David Michel, and 2024 has seen some interesting news regarding release dates for the show. Despite being a French series, Totally Spies! debuted first in the United States in November 2001 on ABC Family. The series has had something of a complex distribution and release schedule since then. In the U.S., the show remained with ABC for one season before moving to Cartoon Network's animation lineup for seasons 2-5. The sixth season premiered on Universal Kids five years after season 5.

Totally Spies! The Movie came out between seasons 4 and 5, in 2009, and was a direct-to-television release internationally by Cartoon Network, serving as a prequel to the show. The series follows Sam, Clover, and Alex, three teenage girls from Beverly Hills who are secret agents for the World Organization of Human Protection (WOOHP). With all the futuristic technology WOOHP can provide, the trio takes down criminal organizations while dealing with the trials and tribulations of growing up and experiencing high school and university. Season 7 is set to continue the story of the fabulous spies of WOOHP.

Totally Spies! Season 7 Cast

Jennifer Hale Tweeted That The Original Cast Has Been Replaced

Close

At the moment, it's unclear who will be in the cast of Totally Spies! season 7. Two of the main characters have been played by the same voice actors for all six seasons and the movie, with Jennifer Hale as Sam and Andrea Baker as Clover in the English version. Alex was voiced by Katie Leigh in seasons 1 and 2 and Katie Griffin has voiced the character every season afterward and in the movie.

However, it may be that season 7 will replace the main cast of the show. According to Hale, in an X response to a fan asking if she would return to the role, she said,

"I wish. they replaced us I remember hearing that they didn’t want to pay union rates"

It's not mentioned who the "us" is referring to, but it's likely she's also referring to Baker and Griffin. There is also a picture of a DM making its way around X that shows a screenshot of an Instagram direct message between Baker and a fan where Baker thanks @cloverspiesfan for a nice note but says that there will be a new cast in season 7. This is not entirely unusual for a long-running animated show, The Simpsons often changes voice actors, but to switch out the actors over a contract dispute would be unfortunate, if true.

Totally Spies! Season 7 Story

So far, no information regarding Totally Spies! season 7's story has been released. The only hint at what the next season will entail comes from a press release from Benoît Di Sabatino, producer and Banijay Kids & Family CEO, which produces Totally Spies, via Banijay,

"The new series stays true to all the key elements that make the show so popular, but has been lovingly updated for a new audience, reflecting the modern challenges faced by both high schoolers and spies alike!"

It sounds like Totally Spies! season 7 will be more of what fans have come to expect from the series. The press release also states,

"...the upcoming series follows the three legendary secret agents, Sam, Clover and Alex, as they move to a new city and take on a fresh crop of villains."

Where the spies will be going is unclear and Di Sabatino's mention of "high schoolers" is odd, considering the spies were in college in Totally Spies! season 6. Di Sabatino could have mispoken or been speaking broadly about the series as having many high school-centric themes, or it could be that Sam, Clover, and Alex are heading back to high school.
