The Golden Bachelor star Theresa Nist is discovering joy in a new therapeutic hobby during a rough period in her life. Gerry Turner and Theresa got married on January 4, 2024, during the Golden Wedding. However, on April 12, 2024, they announced their divorce after three months of marriage. Gerry and Theresa’s love story had inspired several singles in their 70s looking for love. However, they came to a mutual conclusion to dissolve their marriage when they couldn’t decide on a location where they’d live together. They weren’t on the same page and were living separately prior to the announcement.

Theresa revealed that it’s gardening that she’s turned to find happiness during her public divorce with Gerry.

She told her Instagram followers that it feeds her body, mind, and soul and also does one a “world of good.” Gardening makes sure Theresa is out in fresh air and sunshine when there are no clouds and rain, with her hands in the dirt. Gardening is also a source of exercise for Theresa when she pushes a wheelbarrow, pulls weeds, pulls the hose to water everything, and walks everywhere. “It’s meditative and energizing all at once,” she added.

While Theresa nourishes the soil and nurtures the plans to grow at their best ability, she’s also nourishing her soul and growing from the bad experiences in her life. She mentioned how she works on her hobby early in the morning or at the end of the day. She can walk around or sit back and relax and admire the fruits of her hard work. Theresa also has company during her gardening sessions. She wrote that both she and her daughter recommended gardening to everyone. Theresa posted pictures of the garden at her house. She wrote that her daughter has “beautiful gardens too.”

Theresa’s gardening post is her first social media update after she spoke out about her split with Gerry earlier this month.

Theresa thanked the fans and friends who had shown kindness to her in these difficult times by reaching out to her. Theresa called her time on The Golden Bachelor one of the most incredible experiences of her life. Theresa admitted it was something she never expected to happen in her life, especially at 70 years old. Theresa confessed that while things didn’t go as planned, she was also taking a lot of positives away from her experiences, such as the lovely friendships she formed with her co-contestants on the show.

Theresa even addressed The Golden Bachelor fans who were confused and angry at the outcome of season 1 and did not seem to understand what went wrong in Gerry and her relationship. Some fans still believe that Gerry and Theresa haven’t told them the whole truth. They don’t believe that the issue was the location and hope that Theresa will one day open up about what truly happened. However, Theresa’s supporters are glad that she was able to dodge the bullet.
