“He’s good at the things that I’m actually horrific at doing, so this is gonna work out really well.”

Tyler Had A Short But Sweet Time On Below Deck

Close

Tyler had a rather unconventional journey in Below Deck season 10. He joined the crew at the mid-way point of the season on Below Deck season 10, episode 10, as Camille’s replacement. He took over Camille’s role as deckhand and stew after she was involved in a plethora of drama and fired by Captain Sandy Yawn. Camille struggled to balance her time between working as a deckhand and stew and had a negative attitude throughout the season. She got involved in a “boatmance” with deckhand Ben Willoughby, drank while working, and had drama with second stew Alissa.

Tyler undertook a large job when he replaced Camille. He brought fresh energy to the boat that the crew needed midway through the season. While past male Below Deck stars have been disliked for their aggressive or misogynistic ways, Tyler did not exhibit any of this behavior. He was beloved on the show by Below Deck fans and praised by Captain Sandy who stepped in when Captain Lee Rosbach had a health emergency. Captain Sandy appreciated Tyler’s positive attitude and willingness to work hard aboard the St. David. Once Captain Lee returned, he sang Tyler praise.

It is known Tyler came out as sexually fluid on the show. He also revealed that he hadn’t told his conservative family about his sexuality. During a charter, a guest showcased their drag persona of Trussy. Tyler was incredibly supportive of Trussy’s performance, and in a confessional, he discussed how it was difficult for him to express himself growing up. Tyler was a beacon of representation for the LGBTQ+ community on Below Deck.

Will Tyler Ever Return To Below Deck?

Never Say Never

Tyler has not ruled out returning to Below Deck. Tyler was an exceptional worker Below Deck season 10; he stepped up when Camille was fired for not doing her job properly. Once he started working on St. David, Tyler became a reliable crew member in a previously chaotic workplace. The replacement captain, Captain Sandy, took a liking to Tyler and appreciated how hard he worked at his job. Once Captain Lee came back, he also appreciated Tyler’s work ethic.

Tyler formed great relationships with his crew members and two iconic Below Deck captains. Fans wanted him to return for Below Deck season 11 but could return for another season in the future or another spin-off series. Since Captain Sandy knows how Tyler works as a deck/stew, she could potentially invite him to work on future seasons of Below Deck Mediterranean. Considering how good of a deck-stew he was on Below Deck season 10, it would be silly not to bring back Tyler at some point.

Tyler was an incredible deck/stew on Below Deck season 10. While Tyler joined the St. David’s crew later in the season, he stepped up and worked hard to prove himself. Tyler has been busy enjoying his life traveling since the show, but it wouldn’t be surprising if he does return for another season in the future.
