Mayor of Kingstown Season 3 Isn't Missing A Beat

Jeremy Renner Has Hit The Ground Running After His Recovery

As this trailer highlights, Renner has rejoined the Mayor of Kingstown cast after spending quite a bit of time off set. On New Year's Day in 2023, the star was involved in a snowplow accident that left him hospitalized for 16 days with blunt chest trauma and 30 broken bones. Although season 2 of the show aired from January 15 through March 19, Renner was not able to return to set for quite some time while he was recovery, only stepping back into the role as of January 10, 2024, more than a year after the accident.

Jeremy Renner's only other role in 2023 was a voice role reprising his Marvel Cinematic Universe character Hawkeye in the Disney+ animated show What If...? season 2.

In this expansion of the original 30-second Mayor of Kingstown season 3 trailer released this March, Paramount+ offers an even closer look at Renner's return to playing Mike McLusky. The star seems to have been able to seamlessly keep Mike's storyline going, harnessing all the darkness and dramatic potential for the character that were shown in the first two seasons. In fact, they have potentially been heightened even more, as Mike's murderous moment at the close of the trailer shows.

While there has been a slightly longer hiatus than usual between seasons of Mayor of Kingstown, it seems that the new season could be well worth the necessary wait. The stakes are being raised considerably in season 3, with Mike being forced to deal with a drug war, the Russian mob, and a series of mysterious explosions. With so much on the line this season, it seems likely to hook return viewers immediately out of the gate once it premieres on June 2.
