Despite both being members of the Justice League, Zatanna and Superman's paths don’t often intersect. Due to her affinity with magic, Zatanna often serves on the Justice League Dark, while Superman, who has a profound weakness to magic, typically tries his best to avoid all things magical. Hence, this will be an exceptionally unique team-up for both characters, made even more interesting by the fact that Kal-El will be powerless during their collaboration. This will also likely result in an interesting dynamic between the two, considering Zatanna may have to take on the role of protector and protect the once-invulnerable Man of Steel.

With Superman stripped of his powers, it will be particularly intriguing to see what he brings to his partnership with Zatanna, especially since they will embark on a "dangerous mission." One might assume that Zatanna would be better off going alone, as a powerless Superman is more likely to be a liability than an asset. Hence, it’s likely that Williamson has something up his sleeve for why Clark needs to accompany Zatanna on this magic-based mission. Perhaps Superman will once again utilize Lex Luthor’s suit of armor or employ something within the Fortress of Solitude for his and Zatanna's exploits.
