8 Best Minecraft Ancient City Seeds
As you venture through deep, dark biomes in Minecraft, you may stumble upon an ancient city. These black palaces are full of useful loot and strange Redstone circuitry. Ancient cities were added to the game in Version 1.19 and can offer rare items like diamond horse armor, enchanted golden apples, or enchanted diamond leggings.
Ancient cities spawn on layer -51 with more Sculk Shriekers than a regular deep dark cave. These Sculk Shriekers could summon a warden if players are not careful enough. While the layer location of the ancient city's floor is the same across all seeds, finding an ancient city on a regular random seed can be a struggle. Luckily, players have collected a respectable list of seeds from ancient cities you can loot to your heart's content.

8 Fall Into The Ancient City (Java)
Seed Code: 2851726316935960465
When you spawn onto this map, you'll find yourself on a frozen peak with snowy trees spilling down the mountainside. Head down the western slope, and you'll spot a crack in the earth leading deeper underground. This crack provides easy access to the ancient city lurking under your spawn point. The cave system leads you through a mineshaft before depositing you into the city itself.
Beyond this, however, only some useful locations are within 500 blocks of spawn. The nearest village is at (704, -320), a long walk from the ancient city. If you want to start with the resources of a mineshaft and Ancient City rather than relying on a village, you may enjoy this seed.
Location Coordinates (X, Z) Crack (-123, 11) Ancient City (31, 22)
7 Lush Caves & Waterfall (Bedrock)
Seed Code: -20568620028340432
For some players, building their base in an ancient city sounds like an exciting challenge as they try to dodge Minecraft's dangerous warden stalking the structure's halls. However, the creepy atmosphere can be too much for players wanting to turn their cave into a home.
This seed fixes that by spawning two beautiful waterfalls in the area, connecting the ancient city to a prettier, more peaceful, lush cave. The surface isn't very isolated either, as southwest of Spawn, you can find a witch hut, three villages, and a ridiculous amount of buried treasure.
Location Coordinates (X, Z) Ancient City (168, -216) Witch Hut (-680, 152) Savanna Village (-1464, 376) Plains Village #1 (-936, 680) Plains Village #2 (-504, 856)
6 Ancient City Under The Cherry Trees (Bedrock)
Seed Code: -5180491134649022265
Head southwest to the nearby cherry tree grove where you spawn into this Bedrock seed. If you dig under the northern slope of the snowy mountain bordering the cherry grove, you'll find yourself smack-dab in an ancient city.
This seed is excellent if you want a good cherry grove seed in Minecraft. The grove is a beautiful base location, and the mountain is a good starting point for a handmade mine leading to the ancient city. It's also close to a shipwreck and a savanna village, so you can easily make day trips.
Location Coordinates (X, Z) Ancient City (-248, 120) Shipwreck (136, -248) Savannah Village (200, 104)
5 Jungle Temple And Village Above City (Java)
Seed Code: 3988218945028357710
This Java seed, found by akirby80 on YouTube, showcases an incredible spawn point. You'll start your playthrough in the middle of a village surrounded by multiple biomes: meadow, forest, birch forest, jungle, and grove.
However, you don't have to go far to find a jungle temple with iron and gold bars waiting for a lucky adventurer to claim them. The ancient city in this seed is located right underneath the village, and since a chunk of the village falls into a natural cave, it's easy to access.
When you're done with your immediate surroundings, you can travel 500 blocks east to a savanna village or around 250 blocks northwest to some trail ruins. There should even be some ruined nether portals to the southwest and southeast of spawn. All in all, this is a great seed with a lot of resources to start with.
Locations Coordinates (X, Z) Plains Village (0, 0) Ancient City (0, 0) Jungle Temple (30, 35) Savanna Village (560, 48) Trail Ruins (-275, -237)
4 Dripstone City Below (Java)
Seed Code: 562949967439464
Pixie Two on YouTube found an impressive dripstone/deep dark fusion for the Java 1.20+ update right underneath this seed's spawn with many amenities, including a Zombie Spawner and Amethyst Geode. You can even visit two other ancient cities close to spawn (northwest and southwest of spawn, to be exact). This means you can dive right into an ancient town as soon as possible.
Of course, if you want to prepare for your spelunking before entering the ancient city, there is a village southeast of Spawn. Once you've equipped yourself there, head to the Pillager outpost north of the village to get some XP. With both locales visited you should be fine entering the ancient city.
Location Coordinates (X, Z) Ancient City #1 (2, 0) Ancient City #2 (-240, 96) Ancient City #3 (-336, -192) Village (96, 128) Pillager Outpost (128, -160)
3 Ancient City Stronghold (Java)
Seed Code: -6542427500181432213
This ancient city seed may be a bit of a hike from spawn, but if you want to get to the End fast in Minecraft while still enjoying the wonders of an ancient city, this is the seed for you. Head southwest of spawn (picking up a few buried treasure chests and finding a village along the way), and you'll encounter one of nine ancient cities spawned close together underground, with eight looping together in a ladle-like shape.
Even better, as you explore this connecting chain of ancient cities, you'll find the entrance to a stronghold within the structure. This allows you to set up a base of operations in a well-connected system of caves with multiple villages and other useful locations on the surface surrounding the cities. You can even find three more ancient cities southwest of the main grouping.

2 Snowy Ancient City Hub (Bedrock)
Seed Code: 468893351111893428
This snow-studded landscape, full of igloos, taiga biomes, villagers, and Pillagers, holds excellent secrets underneath the snow and ice. When you spawn, you're on top of eight different ancient cities, with two more in the west and northwest.
The area has a lot to offer for cold-weather fans. If you're willing to take a walk, you can even find a zombie taiga village about 1200 blocks west of Spawn if you want to cure zombie villagers in Minecraft. The seed feels like a long-lost ruin on a snowy mountain, except these ruins lurk under the snow.

1 Four Conjoined Cities And More (Bedrock)
Seed Code: -4850116730494539458
Before you head northwest to the crown jewel of this Bedrock seed, take a moment to explore the badlands you spawn beside, as there is a lone ancient city just southeast of your location. That alone would make this seed a fun option for players who love to decorate their homes with colorful terracotta.
However, heading northwest, you'll stumble upon four ancient cities conjoined together in a giant circle. You'll even have a desert temple, desert village, shipwreck, and pillager outpost to the south for more variety.
This is a great way to get the loot from multiple cities without traveling too far. If you want more, however, there are almost two dozen more ancient cities stretching out to the northwest, with a few villages and trail ruins on the surface. This incredible set-up makes this the best Minecraft seed for ancient cities.
Location Coordinates (X, Z) Ancient City #1 (216, 136) Ancient City #2 (-712, -248) Ancient City #3 (-952, -248) Ancient City #4 (-1032, -600) Ancient City #5 (-648, 600) Desert Temple (-1224, 200) Desert Village (-1320, 280) Shipwreck (-1112, 536) Pillager Outpost (-520, 580)
