All 5 Members Of The Bad Batch, Ranked By Their Likelihood Of Surviving The Series Finale

Warning! This article contains SPOILERS for Star Wars: The Bad Batch season 3, episode 14.

Summary It seems increasingly likely that at least one member of the Bad Batch will die in the show's finale, but some are more likely to perish than others.

Crosshair and Echo are the most likely to die, as their deaths have been foreshadowed, and would serve narrative and thematic purposes.

Hunter and Omega are the least likely to die, as they're both too important to the entire squad and show, and their deaths would end the series on too dark of a note.

The Bad Batch could very easily end in tragedy in its final episode, but some members of Clone Force 99 are much more likely to survive their final mission than others. The final episode of The Bad Batch season 3 needs to provide Clone Force 99 with some closure, since The Bad Batch season 4 won't happen. Unfortunately, there's a real possibility that closure will come in the form of a character's death to mirror Tech's death at the end of The Bad Batch season 2.

While every member of the Bad Batch is threatening in battle, their latest mission may prove to be too much for them to handle. Mount Tantiss is locked down, and Dr. Hemlock has massive forces ready to stop them. Clone Force 99's chances of success seem slim, and rescuing Omega may mean one of their members has to die. There's no telling exactly who will fail to make it out of Weyland, but some members are much more likely to meet their end than others.

5 Crosshair

His death would complete his redemption arc

Close

The member of the Bad Batch with the lowest chances of making it through the finale alive is Crosshair. The biggest reason he's so likely to die is because of his redemption. Crosshair has committed many sins, like betraying his brothers and joining the Empire, but he's also worked quite hard to make up for them over the course of The Bad Batch season 3. If Crosshair was forced to sacrifice himself to ensure the rest of the squad's survival, it would be an extremely fitting end to his redemption story. It would also parallel several other redemption stories in Star Wars, like Anakin's and Ben Solo's.

Crosshair One of five mutant clones created by the Kaminoan scientist Nala Se, Crosshair is a gifted marksman whose skills are almost preternatural in nature. He was the only member of Clone Force 99 to be influenced by the clones' inhibitor chip, but still chose to remain with the Empire for a time even after he'd had the chip removed. Crosshair is clearly on a path of redemption, however, one that will lead him back to his brothers. Created By George Lucas , Dave Filoni Cast Dee Bradley Baker Race Clone

Crosshair's development in The Bad Batch season 3 is also a factor in how unlikely he is to survive. In season 2, Tech was given a lot of attention and character development, and the season heavily emphasized his importance to the rest of Clone Force 99 and specifically Omega, and the same was done to Crosshair in season 3. Tech became a much more complex and empathetic character, only to die in The Bad Batch season 2. Crosshair has received almost the same level of attention, development, and importance, which could indicate his story will also end the same way Tech's did.

There have also been several small hints that Crosshair's story will end in tragedy. The Bad Batch season 3, episode 14 brought him back to Tantiss, the same place that nearly took his life once, and it could finish the job. The season has also emphasized the effects Tantiss had on him, such as the tremble in his hand, which could indicate Crosshair will miss an important shot at some point during the rescue mission.

Of course, Crosshair could also survive, as it would serve as a way to subvert expectations and make his story different from Tech's. Star Wars has a habit of killing its characters just as they find redemption, and Crosshair could be used to break that mold. It could also be argued that his survival would be more emotionally powerful than his death, so there's no telling for sure what's in store for Crosshair.

4 Echo

His death would close the door on the Clone Wars

Close

The next most likely member of Clone Force 99 to die is Echo. Like Crosshair, Echo's death would serve a deep thematic purpose, but for different reasons. He's the last surviving member of the Domino Squad, a group of troopers that were featured in almost every part of The Clone Wars. As such, he currently acts as The Bad Batch's most direct link to the Clone Wars, and Echo's death could be used to signify that Star Wars storytelling is done with that era. The Bad Batch has been touted as the final chapter in the Clone Wars, and Echo's death could be the final page.

Echo (CT-1409) A loyal clone soldier, Echo was captured by the Separatists and transformed into a tool that they used against the Republic. Rescued by Clone Force 99, Echo chose to join the team, and - like most of that mutant squad - he was not affected by Order 66. Echo left the Bad Batch to work alongside early rebel cells. Created By Dave Filoni Cast Dee Bradley Baker Race Clone

Echo's death could also be the perfect way to end his own story. Echo was thought dead for years, only to be saved during the Bad Batch's first appearance. If he sacrifices himself in the final episode of The Bad Batch, it would perfectly parallel how Echo came to join them in the first place by letting him save them. Echo also should have died on the Citadel or Skako Minor, so he's been living on borrowed time ever since. Laying down his life to save his siblings could be the perfect way to put that extra time to good use.

While his death isn't unlikely, there are also several reasons Echo might survive. Since Echo left the Bad Batch to join Captain Rex, he has been severely under-utilized in The Bad Batch. Killing him off when he's only appeared in a fraction of the last two seasons would make his death feel too sudden. There's also been hints of a Bad Batch spinoff showing Rex's clone rebellion, which wouldn't have as strong of a tie-in if Echo dies before it begins. He also finally got a replacement hand in the penultimate episode, and it would be a shame to not see him properly use it.

3 Wrecker

His death would be a surprise, but it is still possible

Close

There's a fairly large gap in how likely characters like Crosshair and Echo are to die and the next entry: Wrecker. While the others would serve a narrative purpose, Wrecker's death wouldn't accomplish as much thematically, and it hasn't been set up as well. Wrecker has been one of the most consistent characters in the show, and there haven't been many major changes in his characterization or development that would indicate he's about to be killed. If The Bad Batch finale kills someone, there are more fitting options than Wrecker.

Wrecker Like the rest of Clone Force 99, Wrecker is a mutant clone created by the Kaminoans as an asset to the Grand Army of the Republic. He is known for his physical strength and love of explosives, serving as Clone Force 99's demolitions expert. Like the rest of his squad, Wrecker went rogue after Order 66 and the inauguration of the Empire, working as a mercenary in the galaxy's underworld. Created By George Lucas , Dave Filoni Cast Dee Bradley Baker Race Clone

Still, Wrecker's death isn't impossible, and there have been suggestions that Tantiss will be the site of his final mission. Throughout The Bad Batch, Wrecker has been hurt and injured more than any other character, and the series finale could hit him with more than he can survive. The Bad Batch season 3, episode 14 also showed him getting mauled by a dryax, and his armor was severely damaged by it, which could be a hint that he'll get even more damaged in the finale. He's survived tons of damage in the past, but he might not be able to take much more.

Wrecker's death would also give the finale an appropriate amount of emotional weight, and could be even more devastating than Crosshair or Echo's death. Wrecker has always functioned as the Bad Batch's comedic relief, and he's always had a close connection to everyone, so losing him would cast a shadow over the rest of the group. He's probably the only member of the group who could just as likely die as he could survive, so seeing what happens to Wrecker in The Bad Batch's finale will be incredibly climactic.

2 Hunter

He's too popular and emotionally important to other characters to die

Close

Of the Bad Batch's male members, Hunter is the least likely to meet his end in the show's finale. As the group's leader, Hunter is one of the most prominent and popular characters in The Bad Batch. Hunter's death would ruin many people's favorite part of the show, and there's no guarantee Star Wars could pull it off without alienating quite a few viewers. There have also been very few hints that he would die, and since there's only one episode left of The Bad Batch, there would hardly be enough time for audiences to properly mourn him.

Hunter (Clone Force 99) Leader of Clone Force 99, Hunter is a mutant clone created with enhanced senses - gifts he uses to help him strategize in combat operations. Hunter led his squad on countless successful missions during the Clone Wars, and they deserted shortly after Order 66. Hunter has become a father-figure to fellow mutant clone Omega, who he loves dearly and is sworn to protect. Created By George Lucas Cast Dee Bradley Baker Race Clone

Hunter also acts as the glue that binds the Bad Batch together, making him too important to kill off. Clone Force 99 wouldn't be able to operate nearly as effectively without him, as his death would deprive them of their leader. Killing Hunter would essentially mean the entire squad's end, as Clone Force 99 would be unrecognizable without him. There's even a chance they wouldn't be able to stay together without Hunter's leadership, which makes it much less likely that the finale of The Bad Batch will be his final appearance.

All the members of Clone Force 99 have acted as fathers to Omega, but the bond she shares with Hunter is special. They've become incredibly close over the course of The Bad Batch, and Hunter's death would impact Omega more than anyone else's. While that doesn't necessarily prevent Hunter from dying, it does make him much less likely to, especially considering the member of Clone Force 99 who is most likely to survive.

1 Omega

She's the heart of the Bad Batch and too important to die now

Close

There's essentially no chance Omega dies in the finale of The Bad Batch because of how important she's become. Omega is the key to Project Necromancer, Palpatine's resurrection plan, so she likely still has a role to play in the franchise, even if she is rescued from Tantiss. Dr. Hemlock also knows how important Omega is, so he'll likely make sure his forces don't target her, making it even more likely that she'll survive. Her protection has also been the Bad Batch's main objective throughout the entire show, so killing her now would make all their efforts be completely in vain.

Omega A mysterious mutant clone created by the Kaminoans, Omega longed to get away from Kamino and explore the galaxy. She was rescued from the Empire by Clone Force 99, and soon became the heart of the team. The Empire still view Omega as valuable, though, and all signs indicate her story could well end in tragedy. Created By George Lucas , Dave Filoni Cast Michelle Ang Race Clone

While any member's death would be heartbreaking, Omega's death would be absolutely devastating. She's functioned as the heart and soul of Clone Force 99 since she was introduced to them, and losing her would rip away both the show's and the group's emotional core. Omega's death would be so emotionally charged that it could end up ruining The Bad Batch by ending the series on an overly dark note. The ending of The Bad Batch will likely be tragic, but Omega's death would be downright depressing, and the show will likely keep her alive to avoid that.

Omega's death would also come as a complete surprise, as there haven't been any hints that she would die. Every other member of the squad is more likely to be killed than her, and all of them would be willing to lay down their lives to save her, so the only way Omega could realistically be killed off is if the entirety of Clone Force 99 also dies with her. That would be an extremely dark ending that contradicts the hopeful themes Star Wars is known for, so Omega will likely be safe one way or another in The Bad Batch's finale.
