Baldur’s Gate 3 Characters Are Coming To Stardew Valley
Summary Stardew Valley and Baldur's Gate 3 are coming together in a new mod, "Baldur's Village", combining two popular games.
The mod aims to add romance storylines, quests, and new structures to Stardew Valley based on Baldur's Gate 3.
A small team of amateurs are working on the ambitious project, with plans to release the initial version before August 2024.
Stardew Valley and Baldur's Gate 3 may not have great deal in common but those fans who want to see the Forgotten Realms clash with Pelican Town are in luck because a new mod is aiming to accomplish just that. Over the last few months, it's difficult to think of two games that have dominated the industry more than Stardew Valley and Baldur's Gate 3, thanks to the former receiving its 1.6 Update and the latter earning a plethora of awards for its impeccable writing and game design. Mixing them both sounds impossible, but that's not stopping some talented fans.
Per an announcement on X (formerly Twitter) by user @XunHe1145, the creator revealed the upcoming mod "Baldur's Village" which will see Baldur's Gate 3 characters like Astarion, Halsin, Shadowheart, and Gale settle in Pelican Town.
The mod is being developed by "a small team of amateurs" but the actual project is incredibly ambitious as it aims to add romance storylines, quests, and new structures to Stardew Valley all based around Larian Studios' Dungeons & Dragons RPG. Production may take some time but the team is aiming to release the initial version before August 2024.

Baldur's Gate 3 And Stardew Valley Couldn't Be More Different
Yet Having Them Crossover Does Sound Very Fun
Aside from just announcing the existence of the project, @XunHe1145 also shared some screenshots of what players can expect when the mod eventually launches. The shots include two pixel-art portraits of both Astarion and Shadowheart as well as some views into the former's home, filled with an assortment of magical items. At the time of writing, completed assets include an "independent map" of "Baldur's Village," four different styles of buildings for each character. The creator confirmed that, eventually, all of Baldur's Gate 3's core cast will be implemented.
While it may seem like a strange pairing, both Stardew Valley and Baldur's Gate 3 have established an audience with a shared interest: Romanceable NPCs. Both games have characters that players can befriend and eventually date, with the latter being decidedly more risque with its relationships. Given that romancing the characters of BG3 will seemingly be a major point of the "Baldur's Village" mod, it stands to reason that fans who enjoyed the experience the first time around would want to do it again in a Stardew Valley-like setting.
Stardew Valley remains one of the most popular games of the last decade thanks to developer ConcernedApe's unrelenting support for the farming RPG and a dedicated community that's constantly creating new mods. Baldur's Gate 3 is much the same as its release out of early access in 2023 placed the game on many Top 10 lists thanks to its excellent storytelling and flexible problem-solving mechanics. Seeing the two collide feels almost inevitable given their immense individual successes.
