Five Nights At Freddy's Biggest Unconfirmed Character Fate Will Have To Be Resolved In FNAF 2

Summary Aunt Jane's fate in Five Nights at Freddy's remains unclear, leaving fans to speculate if she survived the attack by Golden Freddy.

While Aunt Jane is a hateable character, her return in the sequel would intensify the legal battle she poses to Mike and Abby.

The Five Nights at Freddy's movie adaptation includes a relatable human storyline alongside the terrifying animatronic mascot conflict.

One of the most hateable characters in the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie was insinuated to have died a gruesome death, but she might live to torment the heroes again in the highly anticipated sequel. Much like the video game series it was based on, the movie adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s revolves around the night watchman at an old pizzeria as he’s terrorized by animatronic mascots that have come to life with murderous intentions. But it also had a relatable human storyline running alongside the main conflict.

Josh Hutcherson stars as Mike Schmidt, the latest unfortunate security guard to take a job at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza. Piper Rubio co-stars as Mike’s younger sister, Abby, who lives with him. Throughout the film, the siblings are tormented by their wicked Aunt Jane, played by Mary Stuart Masterson, who believes that Mike is unfit to be Abby’s guardian and wants to take her into her own care. Aunt Jane’s fate was left ambiguous, but Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 needs to confirm what happened to her.

Five Nights At Freddy's 2 Must Answer If Aunt Jane Lived Or Died

Before the climactic sequence of the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie, Mike reluctantly asks Aunt Jane to babysit Abby for him while he goes to work. While Aunt Jane is looking after Abby, Golden Freddy infiltrates the house and attacks her, then takes Abby back to the pizzeria. It’s heavily implied that Golden Freddy killed Aunt Jane, but it’s never explicitly shown on-screen, and her death isn’t addressed by Mike or Abby by the end of Five Nights at Freddy’s, so she could still be alive.

How Five Nights At Freddy's Already Teased Aunt Jane's Survival

While the Five Nights at Freddy’s movie doesn’t confirm whether Aunt Jane lived or died, there is a hint that she survived her scrape with Golden Freddy. Aunt Jane is last seen being ominously approached by Golden Freddy. Five Nights at Freddy’s hints at Aunt Jane’s survival by not explicitly showing her death. It would make sense if Golden Freddy simply knocked her unconscious to make Abby’s escape easier – he didn’t necessarily kill her.

As hateable as she is, Aunt Jane is a great villain, so it would serve Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 well to keep her alive. While the animatronics pose a threat to Mike and Abby’s lives, Aunt Jane poses a threat to their livelihood as she wants to split them up so that Abby can live in misery with her. The Five Nights at Freddy’s sequel will need to raise the stakes from the first movie, and bringing back Aunt Jane for a more intense legal battle would do the trick.
