Angela suspected that Michael was scamming her when he had messaged her, as a stranger, on Facebook all those years ago. Michael had sent her a Facebook DM saying that she looked pretty. Angela said she thought Michael was cute, but she was also aware that Nigeria was “the scamming capital of the world.” She went against her intuition to meet Michael in Nigeria when everyone around her warned her against it.

Angela had found out Michael had cheated on her while they were in a long-distance relationship. She forgave him, but she had suspicions that he was always cheating on her. Angela didn’t let Michael have social media pages, and she also didn’t allow him to have a job. Instead of going through all this pain, Angela could simply have split from Michael. She kept giving him many chances, perhaps expecting him to start behaving the way she wanted. Angela had to scream and shout at Michael for him to listen.

Michael also demanded a baby from Angela, despite her age. He suggested he could remarry to have a child of his own.
