Once they settled down after their move halfway across the U.S. they knew there were things they couldn’t ever get over. However, Big Ed added that he had some “really good times” together with Liz. “I want to make that very, very clear. Liz is somebody who I still love very, very much,” he admitted.

He referred to the man as a “hunk” and expressed his fear that Liz and her boyfriend’s relationship wasn’t going to last long if Liz didn’t work on the issues that she faced in her relationship with Big Ed. He made Liz sound like she was money-minded and wanted to be showered with money. Big Ed’s statement made it look like he was jealous of her new relationship.

Big Ed was looking for excuses to break up with Liz because he didn’t want to go through marriage and get another divorce when they had their next big argument.

Big Ed came across as commitment-phobic. He was happy in the relationship as long as he didn’t have to marry Liz or have kids. Liz will never get back together with Big Ed as she’s now in with a man who treats her far better than Big Ed ever did.
