12 Stunning Heroes Cosplays That Make Us More Excited For The New Reboot
Summary Heroes is set to return with a new series called Heroes: Eclipsed, and fans are excited for a potential reboot with original characters.
Talented cosplayers are bringing beloved Heroes characters like Sylar, Peter, and Claire to life with creative and detailed cosplay.
The intricate details and emotional depth of cosplays from the original Heroes series show the lasting impact of the show on fans.
Heroes is making a comeback with a new reboot series in the works, but while the show remains in early development, it's worth looking at some of the biggest fans in their best cosplay. Heroes originally aired on NBC from 2006 to 2010. The show enjoyed immense success early on, but it started to drop in quality as the show moved into later seasons, and it was eventually canceled. However, the impression the show made was still huge, and it remains a beloved show in the hero genre to this day.
Recently, Tim Kring, the creator of the original series and its spin-off, Heroes Reborn, announced that the world of Heroes will return with a brand-new series, titled Heroes: Eclipsed (via Variety). With the shows return now on the horizon, there is renewed hope that original Heroes characters may return for the reboot, but until more details are confirmed, fans can only look back. Fortunately, there are also numerous talented individuals cosplayed as the cast, providing a fresh look at some fan favorite characters ahead of Heroes: Eclipsed.

12 Pose For The Camera
One of the best and most beloved characters from the original series was the terrifying villain of the story, Sylar. Sylar was played by Zachary Quinto, just as his career began to take off, and he began to get work in larger and more popular films and shows. The character had an insatiable hunger for stealing other peoples' powers through cutting open their heads and figuring out how their brains tick.
This same idea is presented by @derpkind in the above image, but it is a much friendlier version of the character than what appears on the show. Sporting a watch, just like the menacing murderer, and posing for the camera, this interpretation of Sylar can be seen as potentially more terrifying, as he wields the head of a victim with glee. However, despite the clear violent tendencies, this Sylar seems like the least scary version to run into in a dark hallway.
Heroes is available to stream on Peacock and Prime Video.
11 Family Ties In Heroes
The dynamics in the original Heroes series can get pretty crazy as the seasons wear on and the Petrelli family appears to grow. Claire is eventually revealed to be Nathan Petrelli's biological daughter. This then makes Peter her uncle, and for a short while, Sylar believes that he is a secret brother to Nathan and Peter. He even has his memory wiped and begins to live as Nathan for a while. However, this image certainly changes the dynamics in the family.
Instagram user @elena_luna and some friends got together to cosplay as Peter, Sylar and Claire from the show. The attention to detail, including the special helix tattoo that features prominently in the series, a blood stained cheerleader's outfit from Claire's broken ribs, and the dark baseball cap worn by Sylar. However, where the cosplay takes a turn is the romance between Peter and Claire. This clearly isn't part of the show, but it still all adds up to a great cosplay.
10 I Came To The Past To Save The Future
Hiro Nakamura is one of the most beloved and entertaining characters from Heroes. His powers, which allow him to teleport and travel through time, come in incredibly useful on multiple occasions, but one of the most surprising was when a future version of Hiro returned to the past to help and guide the others. Future Hiro had a distinct appearance, with slicked back hair, a small soul patch and all black clothing. However, he continued to carry his signature katana with him on his travels, which helped to identify the character as he had undergone a major transformation otherwise.
User @angel_of_steel nails the look and general tone of the character in his cosplay efforts. Sure, the carrying case does not necessarily resemble the katana in its sheath, but he is able to pull it off. Overall, it's a great homage to an incredible character.

9 A Little Effect Can Go A Long Way
Sometimes, all that's needed is a little enhancement to take an outfit from normal, to super, as seen above.
In a series where many of the characters wear plain clothes throughout, it can be a challenge to cosplay as fan-favorite characters. However, @clementscosplaycreations finds the workaround to make a daily winter look into a clear Sylar cosplay. Sometimes, all that's needed is a little enhancement to take an outfit from normal, to super, as seen above.
Sylar takes other people's powers, and late in the series, he steals the electric manipulation abilities of a girl named Elle Bishop. This makes him an even greater threat than normal, and as shown above, the threat and powers are manifest clearly with some minor adjustments. The blue sparking energy in the palms of Sylar's hands is almost real enough that the sound of crackling electricity can be heard while studying the picture.
8 Save The Cheerleader, Save The World
The heroes are on a mission to try and save the world, and more specifically, New York City, from an impending disaster. Along the way, the group learns that the cheerleader, Claire Bennet, is somehow an integral person in these events. Thus, the mantra, "save the cheerleader, save the world," becomes a mission statement for the heroes.
Here, @millycosplay commits to the character fully sprawled out on a stairwell. The painting that prophecies the cheerleader's death is also on a set of stairs, which makes this reenactment a huge success. Ten out of ten for getting into a guaranteed uncomfortable spot just to put this picture together.

7 A Family Affair
This scene from @jewels_443 may not be a canonical event in the show, but after seeing the image, it's definitely in the head canon. Matt Parkman is a mind reader, who is actively pursuing Sylar throughout the show. The image showcases Matt, with Sylar in close pursuit, and a younger cheerleader Claire all together.
Seeing families get dressed up and enjoying a convention together is always heartwarming, and it's even better when they coordinate with the show. This combination is an awesome tribute to the series, and thanks to their synergy, it makes each outfit that much better. Individually, most of these outfits could be mistaken for casual wear, but together, they make something greater.
6 A Little On The Nose
Instagram user @ricknerdvarro absolutely nails the Sylar cosplay with the facial hair, the cap, and the jacket, but if all of that wasn't enough of a giveaway, he has a prop brain. As mentioned above, Sylar's ability to steal powers comes from him literally opening their heads and studying their brains. As a watchmaker, Sylar had a incredible depth of knowledge for figuring things out.
In true Sylar fashion, @ricknerdvarro looked at his costume and recognized something was missing. In order to tie it all together and make it crystal clear who he is playing, the brain is a perfect touch. However, this is certainly a more intimidating version of the character than the first guy on this list.

5 The Morning After
Claire Bennet had more than a few brushes with death throughout each season of Heroes. When she first appears in the series, she is literally jumping off tall structures to test her invincibility. Claire was so desperate to learn more about her powers, that she didn't even think to change out of her cheerleading costume, and this led to the outfit getting drenched in blood and shredded multiple times.
Instagram user @pajamasami does a great job of pulling off Claire's general nonchalance at walking around with a bloodied face and outfit. Whether she is returning from the morgue where she just woke up after dying, or from jumping off high buildings, she is one shower away from going about her daily regular life. The details are great, and another perfect tribute to Claire's character.
4 Forbidden Love
Instagram user @vist_cosplay takes things even further in the forbidden love department, pairing up sworn enemies Peter Petrelli and Sylar. In the series, both characters frequently get caught up in epic battles, but here, a very different side to their relationship is being shown. Whether the Sylarelli ship has sailed or there will be a chance for them to explore romance in the reboot remains to be seen, but this cosplay certainly raises some questions.
While Peter and Sylar are enemies in the series, the version of Peter being shown here is the evil future version who returns to the present to stop the apocalypse. The evil version doesn't appear to be in the right headspace for a committed relationship, but given some time, he and Sylar could make an intense power couple. Great use of props and makeup with the future paintings and the scar as well.

3 It's All In The Wrist
Despite this cosplay being shrouded in shadow, it's easily the best Sylar cosplay on this list. Sylar thrived in the shadows, and the cap was not a fashion statement, but a tool to hide his identity. Instagram user @srona58 did an incredible job recreating the look and feel of the character for this shoot.
However, the crowning jewel of the image comes from the simple hand gesture they employ in the picture. When Sylar developed telekinetic abilities, he used them to make his work far easier, slicing open peoples' heads with his mind. This movement with a raised hand and a subtle motion across is exactly how he went about taking down his victims. For the people who died by Sylar's hand, it makes sense that this could easily have been the last thing they saw alive.
2 Getting Into Character
User @millycosplay makes a return on the list with another entry, but this time, very much more alive. Clearly carrying some dried blood from her most recent accident, Claire is alive yet again, but judging by the confused and scared look on her face, things are getting out of hand. In the show, Claire did have some fear and anxiety around her powers.
This worry became much more pronounced when Claire was accidentally killed by a boy she liked, and she woke up in a morgue. Milly does a great job of not only delivering on the look and general appearance of the character, but also using emotion and acting skills to really embody the character. If Hayden Panettiere is unavailable, Milly could fill in.

1 Sylar Is Kind Of An Icon
Sylar may be the big bad villain of Heroes, but he is also an iconic character. He undergoes a change of heart in the series, and even has a child with Elle Bishop, becoming a loving father at one point. However, he remains a menace and a significant threat to all the other evolved heroes as he seeks to collect their powers.
With the lip-syncing, the makeup, and the threatening grin, this is a great representation of the many faces of Sylar.
Instagram user @_crawler_oaks._.cosplays_ dropped a few videos from their TikTok feed where they made several videos in character as Sylar. With the lip-syncing, the makeup, and the threatening grin, this is a great representation of the many faces of Sylar. He was ultimately more than just a villain, and his character is one that demands further exploration in the Heroes reboot, Heroes: Eclipsed.
