Assassin's Creed Mirage's New Platform Update Is A First For The 17-Year-Old Franchise

Summary Assassin's Creed Mirage is the first full franchise game coming to iOS, with a return to stealth mechanics.

The game will be available on select Apple devices and cost $49.99, with DLC ported over for mobile players.

Players can enjoy optimized touch controls and controller support, staying true to the console experience.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is coming to iOS and iPadOS next month, which is a first for the 17-year-old franchise. Ubisoft's 2023 title saw a return to more of the stealth mechanics that the franchise was originally known for after its focus on larger-scale RPG titles such as Assassin's Creed Origins, Odyssey, and Valhalla, telling the origin story of Basim, a character introduced in the latter title who seems likely to have a major role in the franchise going forward.

A press release from Ubisoft announced that Assassin's Creed Mirage will be launching on June 6 on the App Store for iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, iPad Air, and iPad Pro with an M1 chip or later. There have been Assassin's Creed games released on mobile devices in the past such as Rebellion, Pirates or Bloodlines, and Ubisoft already announced the upcoming free-to-play mobile title Assassin's Creed: Jade. However, Assassin's Creed Mirage's iOS release will be the first time a full Assassin's Creed game that was originally released on consoles and PC will be available natively on iOS and iPad, as confirmed during Apple's Wonderlust event in September 2023.

Assassin's Creed Mirage is available for pre-order on the App Store now.

How Much Will Assassin's Creed Mirage Cost On iOS?

The Game's DLC Is Also Being Ported

Close

As reported by IGN, the full version of Assassin's Creed Mirage will cost players $49.99 on the App Store, after a 90-minute free trial. The game's DLC will also be ported over, ensuring mobile players get the exact same content - which mostly consists of cosmetics, outfits, and weapons - as those on consoles.

The DLC and its pricing is as follows:

DLC Cost Guardian Pack $9.99 Lightning Weapons Pack $4.99 Master Assassin Pack $9.99 Fire Demon Pack $14.99 Jinn Pack £9.99 Maps Pack $4.99 Deluxe Pack $9.99

Much like its console counterparts, this port will also include cross-save and cross-ownership. Therefore, iOS owners can also access the game on iPad without purchasing it twice and transfer their saves between those two mobile devices. In the case of the console versions, this was done through signing in with the same Ubisoft account, but on the mobile versions, this will most likely be through using the same AppleID.

The fact that Apple's latest hardware is able to natively run AAA titles is impressive, and it's clear the developers want to make this experience as close to how players might access the game on other consoles or PC handhelds. Ubisoft has confirmed that Assassin's Creed Mirage's mobile port would include optimized touch controls - as is often the case with mobile games - as well as controller support for those who would prefer the more traditional control schemes. There have been mobile-specific controller peripherals such as the Backbone One or the Razer Kishi to transform mobile devices into handheld consoles, but the iPad version will use Bluetooth to pair with Xbox, PlayStation, or other controllers wirelessly.
