Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return is on the horizon, and its bringing yet another Illumineer's Trove to look forward to with it. With each Disney Lorcana expansion, a new Illumineer's Trove has consistently marked the crown jewel of the product lineup, packing booster packs, accessories, and storage solutions into one box. It isn't the best way for a newcomer to start playing, as it doesn't come with Disney Lorcana starter decks, but it could be a great addition to the collection for anyone looking to pick up a lot of new cards and some other nice utilities in one bundle.

Ursula's Return is the fourth chapter of Disney Lorcana to date, following the initial release of The First Chapter and the subsequent expansions Rise of the Floodborn and Into The Inklands. This one positions the sea witch as the big bad and opens up the option for official solo or cooperative play with Illumineer's Quest - Deep Trouble. For standard play, it doesn't seem like its making any big rule expansions or overhauls, but the addition of plenty of new cards is still sure to shake up the meta in interesting ways.

Coming To Local Game Stores May 17, 2024

The Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return Illumineer's Trove will first be available in local game stores on May 17 before expanding to a wide release on May 31. This follows a staggered release model that's been consistent across the course of Disney Lorcana so far, helping to support game stores and local play scenes by incentivizing in-store purchases. Although Disney Lorcana's initial availability problems made navigating the release of The First Chapter difficult, things have largely stabilized by now, so picking up a new Illumineer's Trove shouldn't be too terrible of a headache on either date.

None of these products are strictly necessary for playing Disney Lorcana: Ursula's Return, but all of them can make for a potentially smoother experience on the whole. Damage-counter dice are a good way to replace the flimsy counters that come with starter decks, and a spinner lore counter is particularly useful as a way to avoid knocking the standard counters out of place during play.

Unlike Starter Decks or the new Gateway and Illumineer's Quest products, there aren't any pre-arranged or guaranteed cards in an Illumineer's Trove, so which cards end up appearing in any individual package is a gamble. That being said, booster packs do follow a basic scheme in terms of contents, guaranteeing a variety of Disney Lorcana card rarities. Each pack contains 12 cards, six of which will simply be common. Three are uncommon, two are rare or higher, and the last will be a foil of any rarity (or, with a lot of luck, an Enchanted).
