How To Get The Fantastic Bait In Stellar Blade

Some side quests in Stellar Blade are tied to a fishing mini-game, including one where you have to find a rare item called the Fantastic Bait to attract the game's most elusive aquatic animal. Fishing fanatics will want to get this Bait to conclude the story tied to this optional content. Important rewards can be earned when you collect Fantastic Bait for your toughest fishing trip yet.

Fantastic Bait is the only item in the game that can attract a Whale Shark, the "Fish of Legend," rumored to be the largest creature you can catch. Anyone who captures the Whale Shark is rewarded with 7,000 Gold from the quest associated with the animal. In addition, you will earn the special Legendary Fish Badge to show off how skilled you have gotten at reeling in different beasts.

You don't need to worry about EVE's level or max health in Stellar Blade for fishing quests like the one tied to the Fantastic Bait, as you cannot get injured attempting to catch any creatures from bodies of water in the game.

How To Unlock The Fantastic Bait Quest

Finish All Other Fishing Missions

"Where is the Fantastic Bait" is a side quest that appears on the bulletin board in Xion once you have completed other optional missions tied to the fishing mini-game. Finish all the fishing missions you see with Clyde at the Oasis until you unlock the "A Gift for a Fishing Maniac" quest. This mission leads you to a cave inside the Wasteland Solar Tower on Stellar Blade's large map after you have pursued various fishing research.

The Fishing Research you have to complete involves catching a few types of fish, such as Porcupine Fish, Channel Catfish, and Halibut using various bait types in specific sources of water where those fish can be found.

Deep underwater in a lake north of the Tower, you'll find a chest that can be opened with the passcode 0508 to give you the Best Fishing Data upgrade. Obtaining this upgrade causes the Fantastic Bait quest to appear on the bulletin board, with four mission objectives available in Stellar Blade.

Follow The Quest Objectives

You have to fill in 20 entries of the Fishing Codex, talk to Clyde, visit the info dealer Roxanne in Xion, and purchase knowledge about Fantastic Bait to obtain the item you want in Stellar Blade. Entries in the Codex correspond to different types of fish you catch, meaning you have to capture 20 unique kinds of fish in the game. This will likely take the longest to finish as you explore different areas and experiment with various bait.

Some of the best spots to start fishing for distinct creatures for the Codex are Xion's tunnel ponds, the Wasteland caves, the Oasis in the Great Desert, and the lake in Eidos 7.

Once you have enough fish in the Codex, talk to Clyde at the Oasis and select the "About the Fantastic Bait" dialogue option. This will reveal that Roxanne has an item called "Information: Fantastic Bait" that she has in her shop for only 300 Gold. Buying this knowledge will direct you to water near the Great Canyon in the Wasteland, where a secret container can be discovered near the southeast corner of the region.

Similar to the solution for the Simple Puzzle, you can enter a code to open the container in the underwater tunnel marked on your map. Enter the passcode "0-0-0-B-B-B" to open the chest and receive some Fantastic Bait that you can use to try and capture the Whale Shark. Doing this completes the Fantastic Bait quest in Stellar Blade, allowing you to get 6,000 Gold on top of the item you need to catch the Legendary Fish.
