Today's Connections Hints & Answers For May 2, 2024 (Puzzle #325)
May 2 is here, and we've got some fun Connections to solve on this lovely Thursday. There are some fun categories as well as a few misdirections. Luckily for us, we were able to figure out we were being duped before running completely out of attempts.
When working towards a win in the game of Connections, make sure you slow down and take your time. One of the most important things to remember is that this game is not timed. You can take as long as you need to solve the puzzle. Clicking too quickly into combinations you think might work is a great way to waste all your attempts and lose the game. Slow down and make sure you have four solidly connected words before hitting that submit button.
Or mash away at the buttons like we do and hope for the best.

HIGHLY SKILLED ACE CRACKERJACK EXPERT HOTSHOT
CRACKERJACK locked us into a bit of a downward spiral as we kept trying to make the classic snack fit in with other words. POPCORN seemed like an easy match-up. We wasted an attempt trying to sort it but moved on to lose another attempt trying to make JOKER, ACE, and JACK work.
We went too fast, and for that mistake, we lost two attempts before realizing that ACE and EXPERT go together real well, followed that up with CRACKERJACK and HOTSHOT and scored the first category of the day.

USED TO FIX A FLAT CHOCK JACK TIRE WRENCH
The green category was our second correct answer for our game and we ended up scoring the whole win in the order that Connections implies are easiest to hardest. JACK and WRENCH made the most sense at first and we completely forgot that the little wedge of wood is called a CHOCK. Once it clicked, so did the category.

JOAQUIN PHOENIX MOVIES GLADIATOR HER JOKER SIGNS
Joaquin Phoenix is absolutely one of our favorite actors, his unique style shines through in every role he takes. Beau Is Afraid was one of my favorite movies of 2023, of course it helps that Ari Aster is a fantastic director. With the first trailer for Joker 2 finally releasing, it'll be great to go see him on the big screen again. SIGNS and HER actually gave away the blue category for us as we still kept thinking of JOKER as a card and not a character.
GLADIATOR? I hardly know HER!

Our leftover words for the day, and another clever purple category. I'm not so sure we would have solved this one on our own, but it's a fun one to think about.
