When 1000-lb Sisters premiered, Amy weighed over 400 pounds, but lost 125 pounds after gastric bypass surgery. After her surgery, Tammy went from 720 pounds to 280 pounds. Their 44-year-old brother, Chris Combs, dropped 150 pounds, while their other sisters, Amanda Halterman and Misty Slaton Wentworth, had gastric bypass surgery in 2023. Reddit user u/tacobellini posted a photo of Amy, Misty, and Amanda pausing for a coffee run while filming 1000-lb Sisters season 6 in June 2024. The caption reads, "A local coffee shop posted a picture of Amy, Amanda, and Misty. According to the coffee shop, they stopped in while filming at a different location. I do wonder where Tammy is..." Since it's unlikely that Tammy was the one taking the photograph, it can be assumed that she wasn't with the other Slaton sisters for some reason.

Not satisfied with filming stateside, the Slatons have been spotted filming internationally too. In April 2024, Reddit user u/hereforthelols1999 posted photos of the Slatons in the United Kingdom. According to the original poster, the Slaton sisters were seen in central London and spotted running around with a film crew. Though it's unclear what they were filming, chances are they were filming 1000-lb Sisters season 6. Before they lost weight, the Slaton sisters wouldn't have been able to fly overseas, so this is an incredible accomplishment.
