One of the most terrifying PC games of the last decade is getting a sequel as Amanda the Adventurer returns for another installment of her horrifying saga. After taking the internet by storm and delighting fans of PlayStation 1-era horror, developer MANGLEDMaw Studios is back to continue protagonist Riley's story as she delves deeper into the mystery surrounding the creepy children's cartoon starring the titular Amanda. Better yet, fans won't need to wait too long to dive back into the series as the second game has already locked in a release window.

As confirmed by MANGLEDMaw Studios, Amanda the Adventurer 2 will see players once again taking on the role of Riley Park as she leaves her Aunt's home for Kensdale Public Library to further research the strange circumstances around the eponymous cartoon.

Of course, things aren't so simple as Amanda is now seemingly aware of Riley's existence and is doing all she can to break free of her prison alongside a new entity that's strangely drawn to the tapes. The brief teaser trailer doesn't give much away but it does help set an eerie tone.

Inspired by similar smash-hits like Five Nights At Freddy's and Poppy Playtime, Amanda the Adventurer 2 will expand upon the original game by fleshing out some of its most unique mechanics. The interactive cartoons make a return as players are able to directly communicate with Amanda, accepting and refusing her demands with a new interaction type that allows Riley to walk around the library and hunt down key items. The playable area is also significantly bigger, boasting multiple sections that must be investigated to uncover the whole story and all its secrets.

To entice fans into giving Amanda The Adventurer 2 a god, MANGLEDMaw confirmed that a demo will launch as a part of the Steam Next Fest event which runs from June 10 to June 17. It's currently unknown how much of the game is included in the demo, but it will likely be enough to excite those enthusiasts eager to continue the bizarre investigation into the production of a seemingly haunted children's cartoon. The announcement of a sequel also serves to commemorate the original game arriving on consoles and mobile devices later in 2024.

Amanda the Adventurer 2 may be the next step in the franchise's saga but PC players looking for some scares needn't look too fair.
