Disney Dreamlight Valley: How To Complete The Sunken Ruins Quest

As part of the recent update to Disney Dreamlight Valley, you will need to uncover information related to the Spark of Imagination, which includes completing "The Sunken Ruins" quest. Unfortunately, this quest is only available to players who have purchased the A Rift In Time DLC, as it takes place entirely on Eternity Isle.

Completing "The Sunken Ruins" quest is not only part of the A Rift In Time DLC's general story but also how you will unlock Oswald in Disney Dreamlight Valley. However, before you can begin this quest, you must complete a couple of prerequisites, including several main story quests and a few friendship quests.

Progress Through Act 1 Of A Rift In Time

While players are likely eager to hop into The Sunken Ruins quest to be one step closer to adding Oswald to their valley, it will, unfortunately, be a while for those who are just beginning the A Rift In Time DLC.

Starting this quest requires you to have completed "Your Eternal Reward," "Wanderer of the Dunes," and "The Tower" quests. All three of these must be completed and pertain to the main story of Eternity Isle.

As for additional requirements, you will need the help of several friends to explore the ruins thoroughly, so you will need to unlock the Overlook and Grove regions of Eternity Isle using 10,000 Mist and then unlock three characters in Disney Dreamlight Valley before they have the option to help you.

For The Sunken Ruins, you must ensure that EVE, Gaston, and Rapunzel have completed their first friendship quest. With all these things completed, you can finally start the quest.

As long as everything required of you is complete, Merlin should have a quest ready for you when you speak with him. He will tell you about the Spark of Imagination and how important it is to find it before Jafar can.

The first step in The Sunken Ruins quest will be to find 11 Flickers scattered around Disney Dreamlight Valley. Luckily, Merlin doesn't leave you completely at a loss, as he will give you an idea of where to find each one.

Using your Hourglass Tool, you will need to find a Flicker in Moana, Ratatouille, and WALL-E's unlocked realms for a total of 3. Following that, you must track down 4 in The Plaza of Dreamlight Valley and 4 in The Docks of Eternity Isle.

Altogether, you should now have 11, after which you can return to Merlin. After speaking with him and constructing the bridge, you will finally be able to enter the ancient ruins, where you will need to speak with him again.

Once you speak with Merlin inside the ancient ruins, he will ask you to photograph the chambers inside the ruins. Essentially, you need to go down each of the three paths and photograph the mysterious object at the end of the path you can see on the floor.

To do this, enter selfie mode and ensure the designated object is in the background of your photo. After you have done this with all three, return to Merlin.

You will know if you have successfully captured the correct object if the quest gets grayed out and has a small check mark next to it. If it does not, you have not photographed the right object or it is not visible enough in your photo.

Speak with Merlin to show him each chamber's photos, which will officially complete "The Sunken Ruins" quest. At this point, you must complete new quests related to each of the three friends listed above, including EVE, Rapunzel, and Gaston.

You will need each of them to activate a chamber in the ruins to secure The Spark of Imagination before Jafar and bring Oswald to Disney Dreamlight Valley.
