Both entering the surface and removing the curse there require several vital items. You can collect these as you play through or specifically seek them out all in one go. It requires both the raw materials and meeting Hades 2's certain NPC gods that can transform them.

To open the Surface Ward, you must gather three types of materials. After sparing with Hecate, the witch will become an ally and offer guidance. She will suggest using the Incantation Permeation of Witching Wards. To brew the spell, you will need the following items:

Material Amount Location Cinder 1 Hecate will offer one upon defeat. Moly 3 Randomly found in most parts of Erebus. Shadow 1 Alchemic recipe learned from Chaos. Consumes 30 Psyche, 30 Ash, and 3 Fate Fabric.

The Wretched Broker at Crossroads will usually sell Psyche, Ash, and Fate Fabric. These items tend to cost lots of Bones. You can save currency by gaining the items via Fated quest rewards offered in Hades 2.

Breaking The Curse

Upon releasing the seal, Melinoe will continually take damage and soon perish when ascending to the surface. After reviving, speak to Chaos to learn of another Incantation, Unraveling a Fateful Bond. Crafting this spell also requires gathering more materials:

Ephyra is located on the surface. This means you will have to farm for moss while still under the curse's effects. It is best to only hunt down moss as needed and escape safely.

Once the Incantation is completed, exploring the entire surface in Hades 2 will become safe. Still, you shouldn’t wander around unprepared. First, arm Melinoe with various weapons and other strong gear. Like the underworld, you should expect to die and repeat several runs before mastering this new zone.
