One Of The Best Jurassic Park Game Series Is Returning Sooner Than You Think
Summary A new Jurassic World Evolution game has been announced by Frontier Developments.
Previous titles allow players to create unique dinosaur hybrids and manage a Jurassic World park and were a success for Frontier.
The third entry in the franchise is likely to be released in Frontier's 2026 financial year, aligning with a new Jurassic movie for maximum impact.
Frontier Developments has officially announced the next entry in the Jurassic World Evolution series. The acclaimed park builder games see players construct and manage their own version of Jurassic World, looking after both the safety of its animals and visitors while trying to turn a profit, much like the acclaimed 2003 title Jurassic Park: Operation Genesis before it. To coincide with the themes of the Jurassic World movies, however, the Jurassic World Evolution also gave players the option to create unique hybrids of dinosaurs and customize them even further.
In Frontier Development's announcement, it didn't specifically call its upcoming title Jurassic World Evolution 3, instead referring to "a third Jurassic World game", but it did repeatedly mention the previous two titles when referring to the extension of the studio's collaboration with Universal Products & Experiences for its "best-selling game franchise", which is an extremely strong indicator that that is what it will be. The title is currently scheduled for release in Frontier's 2026 financial year, which falls between June 1, 2025, and May 31, 2026.

Jurassic World Evolution 3 Could Coincide With The New Movie
Universal Announced A New Jurassic Movie Earlier This Year
Close
Despite all of the marketing surrounding 2022's Jurassic World Dominion calling it "The epic conclusion of the Jurassic era" and implying that it would be the end of the franchise, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment announced a new Jurassic World movie in February 2024. Nothing has been revealed about the movie's storyline, but it has been confirmed that the original Jurassic Park's screenwriter David Koepp has returned to the series to write the script, and that it will be directed by Rogue One and The Creator's Gareth Edwards after talks with David Leitch reportedly fell through.
Currently, the movie is scheduled for release on 2 July 2025. This could align perfectly with the release of Jurassic World Evolution 3, to further boost the title's profitability. Previous Jurassic World Evolution titles were released in June 2018 and November 2021 respectively, with the first game releasing alongside the Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom movie, and the second roughly half a year before the release of Jurassic World Dominion, with DLC coinciding with the film's release instead.
Many had likely assumed that the Jurassic World Evolution series had ended considering the finality of Jurassic World Dominion's marketing, so it's a pleasant surprise to see it returning potentially as early as next year. The previous titles were well received by fans and were two of the most profitable in Frontier Development's portfolio, so hopefully the upcoming third entry will continue this trend.
