The Office stars Rainn Wilson and John Krasinski have a touching reunion in new photos. Based on the British series of the same name created by Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant, The Office first aired on NBC in 2005, introducing audiences to the Scranton branch of paper company Dunder Mifflin. The series, which became a massive hit, features Steve Carell playing eccentric boss Michael Scott, with Wilson and Krasinski playing rival coworkers Dwight and Jim, respectively.

Now, following news that The Office reboot is officially moving forward at Peacock, Wilson shares two images from a recent mini reunion he had with Krasinski at an unrelated morning show appearance. Check out the image below:

"Look who I ran into behind the scenes at [CBS Mornings] - [John] is promoting [IF] and YOU MUST GO AND SEE IT NEXT WEEK!!!! Was amazing to see my incredibly talented, big-hearted brother from another (Scranton) life!" Wilson writes in his caption.

At its core, The Office is a show about relationships. This includes the professional relationships between Michael and his staff, romantic relationships, friendships, and coworker relationships. The Office's cast of characters cover a host of inter-office dynamics, with some characters generally getting along while others really don't.

While later seasons of The Office dig deeper into the friendship that has formed between Jim and Dwight, the two characters are major rivals throughout most of the series. The two characters are just fundamentally very different, with Dwight being eccentric, work-obsessed, and opinionated, and Jim being laid back and generally uncaring about his work life. This dynamic not only works because it feels familiar, with both Dwights and Jims being present in many workplaces, but it also provides the basis for much of the show's humor.

Since Dwight is unpleasant to work with, Jim is constantly playing pranks on him. These pranks become more elaborate as the show goes on, and it helps create a back-and-forth between the two characters that remains one of the key dynamics of the whole show. Clearly, however, the rivalry between Dwight and Jim on The Office doesn't extend to the actors playing these characters, however, and they remain friendly even 11 years after the show's conclusion.
