V Rising 1.0 Release Adds End-Game Items Once Locked Behind Console Commands
Summary Tier 4 Jewels add powerful spell upgrades officially to V Rising's 1.0 release.
Jewels offer spell modifications for unique gameplay mechanics and efficacy boosts.
Console commands still enable Tier 4 Jewels, but acquiring them through gameplay is more rewarding.
V Rising's official 1.0 release adds a lot to the game, and one particular inclusion finally makes some previously hidden content officially available. As a vampire-focused survival RPG, V Rising offers a dark, rich world to explore and action-packed challenges to surmount. After almost two years spent in early access, its official release has brought the game back to the forefront, pulling in returning veterans and new players alike to explore everything it has to offer.
Abilities play a major role in mastering the combat and progression of V Rising, manifesting in the three distinct categories of skills, spells, and vampire powers. Spells make for a particularly interesting part of this system thanks to the inclusion of Jewels, which can be slotted into them to change how they work. Modifying efficacy by varying percentages is a major part of what Jewels do, but they can also add new mechanics or options to make spells more interesting to employ than they otherwise would be.

Tier 4 Jewels Are In The V Rising 1.0 Release
Powerful Spell Upgrades Can Be Accessed Without Console Commands
Throughout the early access period, Jewels that could be officially accessed in-game were divided into three levels, with Tier 3 providing the most powerful options to equip. Utilizing console commands, however, made it possible to spawn in some Tier 4 Jewels. Although the unique designs for Tier 4 Jewels implied that they were more than a basic testing function, the fact that they could only be accessed outside of the proper game mechanics made it seem like V Rising was sticking to Tier 3 as the maximum for balance reasons.
With the 1.0 release of V Rising, however, Tier 4 Jewels have finally made their official appearance in V Rising, and they're just as powerful as might be expected. True to their name, Tier 4 Jewels feature four distinct modifiers, veritably stacking spells with power-ups. They're also much less common to find than the other options, so a lot of V Rising time will still be spent with weaker Jewel options doing the heavy lifting.

Considering the variety of other options on the table, it's easy to let Jewels fall by the wayside when building a powerful V Rising character. They're definitely worth paying attention to, however, especially when it comes to a Tier 4 provision. The benefits can be substantial enough to make gearing a build around them worthwhile, and aiming for this tends to result in some interesting shifts in playstyle that give the overall game experience more variety.
For anyone finding the difficulty of obtaining Tier 4 Jewels frustrating, it's still possible to spawn them into the game with console commands. This is definitely the less rewarding option, however, and rising to the challenge that Act 3 of V Rising ultimately brings by acquiring good loot the hard way just feels better than taking skips along the path. Console commands also need to be enabled under options, and it's not something that will be found in a proper V Rising PvP experience for obvious reasons.
Tier 4 Jewels Show Why V Rising 1.0 Is Exciting
Close
It's cool to see something that people enjoyed pulling into the game through console commands join the proper V Rising experience in a finished form, and it's indicative of the effort that went into the 1.0 release overall. While it isn't uncommon for early access games to end up limping across the finish line — if they even get there at all — V Rising is crossing it in style. That obviously doesn't mean it's without its problems and limitations, but V Rising is definitely more robust and interesting now than it ever was during the game's promising early access.

Although there's no guarantee that V Rising will get future updates as big as 1.0, it's exciting to consider what else could be coming in the future. Tier 5 Jewels don't really seem likely, but more options for Jewel modifiers in general could definitely be on the table. Regardless, there's a lot to enjoy in V Rising 1.0 for now, and Tier 4 Jewels are far from the only discoveries waiting to be found inside.
