Baldur's Gate 3's Astarion Looks Even Better In New Outfits From Interview With The Vampire
Summary Astarion's charm gets a boost with a Vampire Outfits mod inspired by Interview with the Vampire, adding style and flair to his character in Baldur's Gate 3.
Fans love Astarion's suave personality, drawn to his devilish charm reminiscent of Lestat de Lioncourt.
The modding community supports Astarion's character development, providing players with an opportunity to customize and enhance their game experience.
Astarion may already be one of Baldur's Gate 3's most suave characters but players who want to take rogue's charm to the next level are luck because a set of very approprate outfits are now available for him. While Astarion's bold, eloquent, and radiant personality may manage to win over fans' hearts, it's interesting that many of his traits can be seen in a similarly devilish blood-sucker: Lestat de Lioncourt from Anne Rice's Interview with the Vampire. It therefore makes sense that Larian Studio's creature of the night fits so nicely into Lestat's stylish wardrobe.
Posted to Nexus Mods by creator REN, "Astarion's Vampire Outfits" is a mod that allows the character to don sets of clothes directly inspired by Lestat. The outfits are uncannily accurate and fans of Rice's novels and the film adaptations of her work will no doubt recognize the shirts worn by Tom Cruise, who portrayed The Brat Prince in the 1994 movie. Even better is the fact that REN has ensured that the clothes have working physics, are fully dyable, and can be recovered from the tutorial chest so players will be able to spend plenty of time wearing them.
Astarion Is Baldur's Gate 3's Breakout Character

While he may be introduced as a conniving backstabber, it didn't take long for the Baldur's Gate 3 community to become enamoured by Astarion and his over-the-top way of life. Brought to life by the talented Neil Newbon, who took home the award for Best Performance at the 2023 Game Awards, the vampire has become a poster child for the game and many fans are hoping that he'll return in the future. Larian Studios may not be working on Baldur's Gate 4 but Dungeons & Dragons owner Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that Astarion is canon to the fictional universe.
As for Lestat, the The Brat Prince is a key figure in Rice's The Vampire Chronicles franchise and his been portrayed on-screen by several actors across various adaptations. The first was Tom Cruise, who played the Wolfkiller in the 1994 movie, while Sam Reid took over the character for AMC's recent Interview with the Vampire series. Lestat is usually portrayed as a natural performer who takes great pride in his appearance and never misses an opportunity to show off or charm onlookers, much like Astarion.
While it's no surprise that Baldur's Gate 3 should have a mod that grants Astarion a more vampire-accurate outfit, it is surprising that fans have yet to fully swap the character out for a Lestat lookalike. The modding community that's been built around Larian Studios' game is an impressive force, churning out thousands of mods that overhaul nearly every mechanic. With mod support planned to soon arrive for consoles, soon everyone will have an opportunity to customize their game.
