Hades 2: How To Get More Nectar (& What It’s For)
Supergiant has finally released Hades 2 in early access, and players familiar with the franchise will not be surprised to see that Nectar, a resource from the previous game, has returned. This golden liquid is a rarity in the Crossroads and the land underneath, so it's important to know what it does, where to spend it, and what you'll get for collecting it. Nectar can be found in a few places, but no matter where you find it, it will come at a cost.
Hades 2 follows Melinoë, the younger sister to Hades' protagonist, Zagreus. Upon entering the game, players discover that Cronos, the Titan of Time, has ransacked the Underworld and that some unknown but terrible fate has befallen Hades, Persephone, and Zagreus. Now, Melinoë must fight her way into the Underworld to save her father's kingdom with the (mostly moral) support of the Gods, Goddesses, and beings she meets along the way.

How To Use Nectar In Hades 2
Improve Affinitiies With NPCs
In Hades 2, Nectar's primary use is as a gift to the various characters Melinoë interacts with throughout her time in the Crossroads and the Underworld. It's a relatively rare resource, meaning you should be wise about spending it, though it's better spent than left sitting in your inventory.
To spend it, select the "Gift" option that appears before talking to some characters. When you choose it, your inventory will open up, and any item you have that is giftable will appear in color. You should select Nectar, if you have it, and give it to whomever you're talking to.
You can give gifts whenever the prompt is there, meaning you can even gift Nectar to the deities whose Boons you collect, with more Gods potentially coming to Hades 2. Before picking up the Boon, keep an eye out for the Gift option.
When they receive the Nectar, you will see an icon of a heart with a plus sign to the left of it, indicating that your relationship with that character has improved.
The first time you gift a character anything, they'll mention that they're prepared to engage in the Olympian custom of exchanging gifts; they'll hand you a Keepsake to help you in your runs. Some of these gifts can be extremely helpful, whether in combat or just in finding other resources, so make sure to give as many gifts as possible.
Best Locations To Find Nectar In Hades 2
Like most resources in Hades 2, Nectar is often found on your runs into the Underworld. It can be seen as a room reward, indicated on the door leading to the room. Additionally, you can purchase Nectar from the Wretched Broker, a shopkeeper you unlock early in the game.
This specter trades only in Bones, so make sure to have some on hand before heading to his shop in the Crossroads. Finally, Nectar can be purchased from Charon, the Boatman, during your runs for gold.
No matter where you find Nectar in Hades 2, be sure you're gifting it wisely. Grab the Keepsakes that most compliment your playstyle, or use your Nectar to improve your relationship with the surly Nemesis.
You can even gift some to Melinoë's mysterious ally, Headmistress Hecate, and maybe learn more about their relationship. To no one's surprise, Hades 2 is turning out to be just as charming as its predecessor, with endless replayability and resources to discover.
